Fair comments but none of them are good enough excuses to stand up in court. Last week we were apparently tired hence the crap we dished up against Tranmere. This week we've had a rest and we were even worse. If anyone deserves to be tired it's the Sheffied squad who have played three times in a week, including a cup win. This is why we are so poor, this result was so predictable, only I was stupid enough to think we'd score. And Coventry got well beaten again yesterday, and have only won once in their last 9 league games, and guess who that was against ? It's only us that have lost to them. Carlisle have beaten them as have Tranmere, and Notts Co i.e all of the teams trying to avoid relegation around us. As for those of us who predicted a City win up there, they should have known better.
I'm loving the knee jerk reactions of our club. I was reading last week that not many expected anything against Sheff Utd and that's what happens. And we are all out with our pitch forks claiming sack the manager, sack the board etc etc. it's going to be interesting to see how the players react to the rocket they got up their arse that Cotterill supposedly delivered at the end of the game yesterday. Did find it funny when he said he likes changing the teams around, it was like he was explaining to Redprint
Keep saying no we won't get relegated solely based on our team on paper but I've changed my mind after yesterday, the worst performance I've seen for a while coupled with no games in hand and serious lack of commitment from 90% of our squad has made me think we will be relegated.
If we haven't reached 45 points by the end of March then I'll start to believe in a second successive relegation. If we have less than 40, we are ****ed!
Got to say it...I just can't see us getting out of this now. What is it...11 games left? We havn't even won a handfull all season and I see absolutely nothing to show me we will win enough out of whats left. Show me a line up that will all of a sudden win 3 or 4 games on the bounce and I will personally pay for your drug treatment! It aint happening guys.....simple. This club is going in one direction...and it aint up!
I didn't think we would, however look at the facts, after 33 games we are in the bottom 4 and have been for the vast majority of this season and have failed beat any of the teams in the dogfight with us of late, so there is very little to suggest we won't go down again!! I just hope we dont.
We have been consistent this season- But Bad, rarely keep a clean sheet, little confidence, only 6 league wins, need I go on--- It doesn't seem to matter who is in charge, nothing much seems to change and already there are questions about the dressing room again- There appears that we have very few players with any credibility. So what or who is the answer? I cant see anyone wanting to buy the club, Its not an attractive proposition, or any half decent manager wanting to take it on where so many others have not achieved. I don't see much changing in the remaining games and I just hope that we just don't go out with the same whimper that we left the Championship- An even bigger worry is that if we do go down, will the rot stop there?
It was sobering to look at the club website and see the picture of Cotterill hollering and hounding his players above the caption "WE WERE ABYSMAL", with the "See all the goals" and the scoreline next door. Its not a happy camp is it ! Somebody somewhere needs to look in the mirror and acknowledge their own inadequacies
it is worrying no matter whose in charge we are not getting any better, especially in consistency (except bad), but i didnt want SC in the beginning but does anyone really think after the odd games we won with SOD, we would of won as many as we have since SC came in?? we are better under SC but the trouble is, our better is still not good enough for league 1!!!!!!!! We are shipping too many goals still, set pieces are still a worry and i still think AEA is one of these reasons, and before anyone starts , i am not saying its his fault only, but we've been worse since he came in IMHO.
I cant say I rated SOD at all really, but what you can say is, the results were beginning to turn around, his last 10 games were decent stats weren't they? also I think his signings have been better, with the January transfer window looming we may have got a couple of decent players in rather than the crap we ended up with. The players seemed to have more respect for SOD, Jet has just turned off since he's gone.. Cotterill has ruined what seemed to be a settling back 4 to play El Abd, its nonsense. My instinct says we are going down.
