Financial credit is only given to those with a good credit history already.

It's no different in football. Our football credit rating is based on 39 years without any trophy, more relegations than I case to remember and only 3 top 10 place finishes, in the top flight, in 55 years.

Only when we actually start to perform on the pitch, year on year, and win a major trophy, will we start to gain respect and credit.

Ellis Short eluded to this point last week in his interview. We have gained some credibility with the arrival of Mon but even this season up to December, every EPL team would have fancied their chances at the SOL.

We all know that things have changed because we live with it every day. The rest of the country will need to be convinced still. That's why this FA Cup run has even more importance for us now. Mon has been here with other less fashionable clubs and knows that the first trophy is crucial to changing that clubs status.

I'm not saying we will win it but I'm absolutely convinced that 100% of his focus will now be on trying to. Our EPL status is no longer under threat. Our chance to win the FA cup is now 1 in 8.

Win it and our clubs future amongst the elite will be assured.

This...apart from the last sentence

Why is it that the media give our club no credit for good results??We have just had a good game at Everton, and given the home-team a problem or two, been competitive, and could have won.All I am reading on Sky etc.,is that we were lucky not to lose, lucky not to concede two penalties etc. When will we be given some credit ?We are a good side, that competes 100% in every game, and, yet, are given no credit by the press. What will they say when we turn up at Wembley for the semi's ???

Everton had 19 shots on target to your 5
9 shots off target to your 2
And 55% possession to your 45%

That would lead anyone to believe that you were on the back foot and perhaps lucky not to concede.

Your jealous bile can be seen from some distance chapped arse.

Remind of, how was your quarter final game then? Ah bless.

Some people are getting obsessed with statistics. So Everton had 19 on target but only one of them went in. So what does that prove. Only that our defence and mainly our goalkeeper were playing well enough to keep all but one of them out. As for shots off target, again what does that prove. Nothing at all to me, it merely means they missed!

The only important statistic that Chappaz seems to have forgotten was Everton 1 Sunderland 1.

Siddall. Don't misundertand, I'm not saying 1 FA Cup would suddenly make us man utd but rather it would elevate us from the also rans and give us something tangible to build on for the future. At the moment, trying to sell this club to players outside the area, on the strength of 1 cup win in 39 years is a hard sell indeed.

Attracting them on the back of a trophy in 2012 and a European campaign, combined with Mon as manager, would be easier than selling breath to a dying man.

This is true..

But remember he quoted this at 4.30 in the morning..(he likes it on here at these times) so sleep deprivation may to be blamed....or maybe not.

Aye and the Newcastle stats make excellent reading don't they?

Newcastle had NIL shots of which NIL were on target
And a grand total of NIL possession.
People in glass houses...
Seems to me most of the second half we were playing for the replay which we've got, and how many times was our goal actually threatened?
Bring on the FA Cup Semi Final draw...Games to be played at Wembley....Oooh that sounds good.

I think we were lucky - Everton have a skill for not scoring goals and rarely scoring 2 or more ...this was something in our favour from the start.

However, on the balance of play, Everton were by far the better team and we basically got away with one.

Have to agree with this unfortunately. Think it will be a different game at the sol though.
