Nonsense! Can't you remember a certain Mr. Phil Brown taking us onto the pitch of the Etihad Stadium? We've also gained a new Egyptian following after the arrivals of Geddo, Fathi (Fathy - numerous different spellings all over the shot) and Elmohamady.
You're not doing a Scum are you Magic, signing foreigners just to sell merchandise Cos thats all ****ing Scum signed the jap (or whatever the **** he is) for
Nah, our ties with the Egyptians are legit other than being for merchandising purposes. Our owners, the Allams, have been involved with Al-Ahly ever since the Port Said Disaster (Egypt being their home nation and all) and we decided we'd take a couple of their players, experienced International players, on loan. Just for some reason, our Facebook Page went us something like 10-30k likes overnight with Egyptians
Why are ull fans so obsessed with Leeds United. This inferiority complex is sad. Just worry about your own club ffs
In answer to the OP - probably. You have got a better infrastructure and bigger fan base than most of the rest of the clubs outside the PL (and quite a few in it). when the Sky money shoots up again in 2013-14 it will be damn hard for any club to get up in competition with the relegated clubs but I am sure that there will be some clubs who screw it up or whose rich backers get fed up picking up the tab which will increase the chances for the rest. The other point is that at some stage the Sky money will reduce or stop altogether and then we will see what the effect is on a lot of clubs at the top. Personally I don't see the financial fair play rules making any difference whatsoever.
Great point Norfolk. At some point Corporate shareholder power will start to take effect, and sponsorhips will reduce as companies start to focus their marketing dollars elsewhere. The silly money going into the Prem is irresponsible spending in tough economic times, and more and more brands will start being alienated by a public that starts to distance itself from the bloated salaries being paid to frankly a majority of average footballers who contribute fcuk all to society whilst nurses, policemen, firemen, ambulance drivers etc who do so much more have to get by on sh1t!! The sooner that day comes the better.
I know Irish, he flies over as often as his budget allows him to see the Mighty Whites. Massive respect for him and his mates who fill planes from the Emerald Isle to see Leeds. Man, he even flew over on a cold Tuesday night to watch a sh1t team play Orient in Lge One. Show me a glory supporting Scummer with that commitment!!!
Cheers Billy. Unfortunately my mother was born in ull, but at least she had the sense to marry an Irishman. I've paid my dues to Leeds United, so I couldn't give a **** what ull fans or any other fans say or think. When's our next pint?
