I was merely questioning Obadiah's rather surprising assertion, that Allam is an honest business man. What's up ?
Are we really that far behind? They are in their third season back and we are in our second. We will never catch up Academy wise as long as Southampton have Marchwood they will always be one step ahead of the game. It is a really a great facility. We over achieved last season and now we have what looks like and on paper is a stronger and better equipped side. If our goal is to finish higher this season than last and become established surely we are not that far behind.
some of you hold the fact that AA is a business man against him. I actually prefer a business man in charge than a fickle armchair fan.
I'm not sure any of the above shows dishonesty in the way I meant it. "Football should be free..". A statement by a man who'd just bought a football club who knew nothing of the game. I would put it down to a rash statement in the initial excitement of owning Hull City. "I would never change the club logo.." What did he mean? He hasn't changed the Tiger's head, is that what he meant by the logo? A generous man would give him that one. The question about consulting us on what did happen is another matter in my opinion, not one linked to his honesty. "I will walk away..." A threat by a man not used to people saying no. The action of a child rather than a dishonest man, in my view. "I've bought the club as a gift to the people..." I accept that this is more difficult. Which brings me back to Southampton. If he cashes in his loans by selling off our best players and keeping as much of the Premier League money as he can then you may have a point. I believe him when he says how much pleasure sitting next to the future King gives him. I see little evidence, other than his cars, that he likes money for its own sake. I wouldn't be surprised if, given the level of his personal wealth, he spends very little on himself or his family. I may be mistaken but that's the impression he gives. Finally, despite all that happened last season no stories of how he treats his employees, his suppliers or his customers have come out. No tales of him ripping off other people have surfaced. Instead a lot of his suppliers/customers sponsored Hull City. That tells me he looks after the people he employs and does business with. The only thing that people have pointed to is Ruscador, which happened a long time ago. Perhaps he learned some lessons and said never again. If you go into battle you have to recognise the other person's strengths as well as their weaknesses. Creating a straw man to knock down doesn't do anybody any good, you end up fighting the wrong battle. The only question that remains for me is, does he want to risk another rejection by the FA by putting in another application? Only he can answer that. If he does I'll try my best to stop him. He owns the company but Hull City is ours and we should decide if, or when, we change the name.
Until that time comes IF it comes nobody will ever know for sure. Brady - Aluko - Huddlestone - Livermore - Boyd - Chester - Davies - McGregor would all make us a good profit for starters. Plus if Robertson - Maguire could be added to the list at some point. Nothing was certain and Spurs were not overly fleeced. They paid the market rate for what they brought in. £10m plus already without a doubt. Nonsense ^^^^^^ this. Not yet. Liverpool to make a move for Rodriquez and Schneiderlin says he wants champions league football but he may have to make do with the europa league. NB. Talksport will have LIVE on air from 5pm an interview with a Southampton person to talk about the summer sales.
Ralf Kruger has just said that neither are leaving and have not asked to leave. The players that have gone wanted to go and Southampton got very good money for those who have gone. Could be smoke and mirrors but I agree that if a player wants out then he has to go.
As things stand currently, we haven't a prayer of making a profit on Livermore. I rate Huddlestone, but there's no way we'd get £10m for him, or any other player.
In your opinion. The market place would disagree with your theory mind. Putting aside a relegation / fire sale that is.
Answering your points in the order of dark type... 1/He's a very experienced businessman. Surely he would know better than to do that ? 2/ He said he'd never change the logo....he changed the logo. 3/ He's seventy five ffs ! 4/ He will definitely re-apply !
If I recall correctly, it's what Mussie has called OLM.... (Have you ever heard of 'tongue in cheek'?)
Schneiderlin on Twatter... @SchneiderlinMo4: 6 years of an amazing journey #saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour !!! Dunno WTF he's crying ovver.
Filey mate, there are very good reasons for me not buying a pass, no ? Iv'e been going to City for 40 years. Finally we're where my dreams hoped City would be.... I ached for these days, and i knew all along,it could happen. A lot of the pride i should take from our eventual success would be taken away from me, 'IF' we were to change our name. Hull city's rise from obscurity to where we are now, is a beautiful thing in my eyes. It feels like that history would be thrown away, and a new modern day club has come in to replace us because HCAFC weren't up to it. I'm not having that ! They're not taking all that history away from us.
But we are Still Hull City AFC Mr Kempton I don't know maybe it's me just wishing my dad was still Here so he could come to a game or 2 with me . All the best anyway Kempton. Maybe you can have a good day out with your dad some were on a Saturday instead . Not having a pop at you one bit . All the best to your dad also
