well another season in the Championship to look forward too Maybe the yellow-stripes will be back down to join us.
I don't know what you lot are all moaning about, we actually made ground on Wendy...albeit a goal difference
Ironically that wasn't the worst we've played this season.Had Hoofy had an ounce of tactical sense he would have replaced Hyam with Douglas after he was booked and then we'd have had a good chance of turning the game round in the second half. I thought Knudsen had one of his best games but Skuse was utter pants and the CM pairing were like statues on more than one occasion.
Oh well there's always the Euros to look forward to. Season over but no real surprise. Will be interesting to see what if anything changes at the club. Unless ME is just happy with Championship status, surely there's got to be some plan to move the club forward? But as Spanish pointed out, unless there is attendances will surely drop again. Really hope the club makes some bold ambitious decisions. In reality it's not been a dreadful season but we have been dreadful for quite a while now, proper relegation material. Why oh why was Hyam not subbed? Poor.
Two winnable-looking home games and we only got a point out of a possible six. One win in the last seven. We've completely bottled this, but unlike last season, we didn't have enough points beforehand to help keep us in the chase. As posters have said, something needs to change at the club, but I have no confidence that it will. McCarthy's on a long-term contract, the board have not seen fit to provide cash in the past couple of years and, with crowds most likely set to diminish and season ticket renewals lower than expected, the board will likely cite that as one more reason to keep the purse strings closed.
The last two of these match day threads I've started, today and Hull, have had titles which came back to bite us on the bum,so for next week it's: We WILL demolish the Wendy house!
Proper football day for me, as some of you may know, I live in Northampton, and today decided to pop down to Sixfields and watch a League 2 top of table match, both Northampton and the Gas played decent football, pub beforehand, Northampton pulled back from 2-0 up to 2-2 but promoted on the day... Th stadium full and buzzing, celebratory pitch invasion at FT as promotion was secured and and a decent piss up with some of their lads in the pub after... Won £160 an my acca too... That's what all football days should be like...
Nice one Welly, I'm glad you had a good day out. I sure miss match days when I read something like that.
