I voted Yes, for the first time I think there's almost an inevitability about it now. And if/when we do, we have to stick with Gus and have faith in him to get us back up as quickly as possible. About yesterday, can someone please explain to me what the **** happened at half time? How can we go from putting in a bloody good first half performance and then turn into a Sunday league pub team in the second? And how many ****ing own goals are we going to score? Are we after some record?
I voted no cos although we've been dealt a **** hand with difficult fixtures and PDC dropping us right in the ****, we now have a manger that looks like he knows what he's doing and you can see steady improvement. Yesterday was a blip amnd nothing more, we knew it had to happen and it did. Now we have some very winnable games and we are surrounded by **** teams who have difficult games to play. It's not going to be easy, but i don't think the magic 40 points will be required this season, closer to 35 i reckon and that's very acheivable for us.
it's amazing how many people have started saying Poyet hasn't got a clue after one game of iffy tactics. They forget he's still a young learning manager.
spurs tore us a new one in that 2nd half, cutting through us like butter, conceding just before half time and just after is about as bad as it gets, the players were totally demoralised, catts lifted them when he came on, why couldnt JOS do that?
I am very happy with Poyet btw. I think he is a breath if fresh air. Honest but not critical of our players but totally focused on getting it right. If only he had been brought in last season things would be very different now IMO.
Agreed. If the worst happens we need to stick with him. He's not the finished article yet, but he's going to get there.
JoS is another argument completely. 5 managers have rated him and played him yet 90% of Sunderland fans can see he's finished. Past his sell by date. He's slow, struggles to pass, no composure and things he had going for him like organisation and leadership have been absent all season. He brings us nothing but the ability to deal with long balls which every centerback should be capable of.
Que sera sera. At the end of the day there are worse things that can/do/will happen. I remain hopeful, even if the the transition from expectation to hope is accelerating by the game.
I don't think you're a wum, I just think you're being silly and not checking the run in and comparing to others who are in trouble. We've got the easiest home run in of everybody in the bottom half, and even though I know it doesn't guarantee wins, it's still a fact. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/240581-Don-t-panic-and-KTF!
We're not even half way through season. Yes it's going to get harder, then easier, than harder, than easier. I don't doubt it will change multiple times. Some people don't seem to be capable seeing beyond the next game.
results across the board devastated me yesterday mate, had time to sober up, reflect and start on the beer again, having a good look at byrons thread has convinced me we still have ample opportunity to save ourselves
Have a beer on me then pal. I missed the end of the match throwing my guts up. Saw food I ate months ago again. Can't face my beloved Guinness for at least, well tomorrow anyway.
