there is a huge amount of pent up emotion from the past few years since Lowe took us down, and condemned us to the third tier of english football. If we go up on the last day of the season I think the relief will be so huge that there will be a pitch invasion, but in a benign way.
Taken from the Sheffield United end after we stayed up! I would love to see this recreated if we do stay up. Great celebrations the same day at Stoke!
This is what will happen if you run onto the pitch at Brentford. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJEFY87w_Uw&NR=1&feature=fvwp
I don't see why we can't just dance and shout where our seats are. Surely much better for the players to have the sound of celebration from our end as a place for them to head to celebrate with us.
We all know what will happen. One or two idiots will run onto the pitch to be followed by increasing numbers of people who can't think for themselves but rather like sheep simply copy the behaviour of others. Me and all the other boring old farts will stand by our seats and say tut tut tut. The man on the tannoy will say repeatedly please keep off the pitch while some people run around all over the pitch like headless chickens. Eventually the pitch will be cleared and the players will do a circuit and we will be able to see Chamberlain as a Saints player for one last time. So ask yourself are you a an idiot, a sheep or a boring old fart?
If there is a pitch invasion just randomly or if there is one and it gets out of control (eg Birmingham v Villa) then a club will most likely be fined for it. In previous years we have had pitch invasions, promoted teams have had pitch invasions and no fines have been dished out for that. I think it all comes down to whether it is a celebration or simply to cause trouble...
The Chesterfield game may have given a few idiots an idea or two on how to behave at the end of the game.
I remember a few years back when the players tried to do a lap of honour and the northam ruined it, who was that against? I was quite young at the time and gutted that I didn't get too see the players without prats from the northam leaping all over them.
I think that was against Sheffield United, the pitch had to be cleared so everyone was behind the pitch lines then the players came out to do their lap of dishonour and they pretty much walked out then back in again...
Defo the last one. Accompanied by shaking of head and mutters of runing it for everyone else. However, the main issue is that we go up.
In the last couple of pitch invasions I stayed with my family in the stands when others flooded the pitch. Then after a while we all just wondered down and had a picture by the goal net
All I ask is that nothing happens that can possibly result in a points deduction, because I'm quite paranoid about the league and us.
What I would ask is why would people want to risk financial or other penalty for the club they are supposed to support, to satisfy their desire to stand on the pitch. And with 30000+ people in the stadium, are they going to file on in an orderly queue? Or will they clamber over the seats, pursued by stewards and say, "look at me! It's all about me, me!" Whilst the rest of us old farts think, get off the pitch so I can thank my team for a great season, you sheep!
As long as people return to the stands afterwards I don't mind. Why would WE get fined/deducted points for something every club who stays up/get promoted are going to do?
