Much needed win, and up we go. Smattering of injuries and yellows. We dont half make life tough for ourselves.
Very comfortable win for us today, aside from a dodgy 15 minute spell in the first half. Donacien, Edmondson, Chaplin (my man of the match), and Bonne all played really well. This was a very poor looking Shrewsbury side that rarely pressed us and sat back. We dictated play a lot with some very nice looking attacking patterns. Edwards looked a threat coming off the bench and I’d hope to see more of him. Not to mention no Celina today because of international commitments. We’ve got a very talented bunch of players here. I honestly feel any failure or lack of consistency should be laid at the manager and the coaching staff’s door. We’ve got some very good technical players, where the only glaring concern could be a lack of mentality or complacency in games.
Typical Town performance, dominated the ball for long periods without causing any real damage but had just enough quality to see the game out.Donacien is turning out to be the surprise of the Season. Had to get the score right eventually!!
Not a surprise to me. Lambert had a personal vendetta against him and that was a huge mistake. This is what I posted in August 2018. Westlake33/ Donacien so far certainly does NOT. Bloody poor vs Blackburn which I went to, and a few none impressed with him vs Rotherham. He has worked to do that lad. Me/ Was poor at CB at the beginning of the opening game but exceptional RB.
As an amateur player 40-50 yrs ago I too played at RB, it was my best position and I knew what was expected. I was quick and few players got round me. I even scored the odd goal! I didnt like playing CB or middle of the park either. Donacien is having an exceptional season, good on him. I wish Downes could have found his mojo here, a talented player that the club let slip through.
He is not the leader we need in these challenging times, and not one mention of all the crises we face in his economically illiterate speech.
