I'm sure it will run into contract renewals. Spurs' lawyers wouldn't be that naive [Edit - Sorry, just seen Sooperhoop has answered this one - I agree with him]
If I remember correctly, his reason for wanting to leave and go to PSG was partly the unsettling factor of the Goons, and partly because his girlfriend and family are in France. One problem is solved, he may have to live with the other. I hope we keep him. He can do the unexpected. He can unlock defences. Bring in an on form striker and it could be lethal. Barton seems to be developing a good relationship with HH. Adel had an understanding with Routledge. Something needs to develop quickly if he stays, we have to win matches in Jan and Feb.
Call me cynical, but I'd quite like him to score against Arsenal and then twist his ankle/knee- something fairly innocuous that would rule him out of the start of the ACON. That way, he won't get called up and we'll get the benefit of him through late January when the tournament is still going on. Or I'd like Morocco to get knocked out early
More than most prem clubs, I think we would not cheer for an Iijury to one of our star players, even if it be innocuous - but an ealy exit by Morocco - I'm in full agreement there
You know the old saying about form being temporary, but class being permanent? If I was the manager of a (bigger) club with some funds to spare, then I might fancy myself to be the special one with the know-how to get the best from Taarabt. I might also be thinking that I could use him in a way more suited to promote his talents. I may also think that, as the selling club, QPR might be prepared to sell him a little more cheaply at this time than had he scored 10+ goals to date this season (or some such). So, whilst I would very much prefer that he stays with us, I don't think Taarabt's PL story to date will have as much a bearing on the chances of him leaving during January as we might hope.
