What's everyone's thoughts on the Aribo ovation? Thought it was a bit OTT myself, considering this is a player who wanted out so desperately in the summer he was kept away from 1st team training for most of it. Not quite ABK levels of wtf, mind, as he does at least have some credit in the bank
Bit weird, but equally we know he’s very good at this level so I don’t blame the fans for clinging onto something. Thought he looked unfit but showed his quality a few times. Ridiculous that he’s been frozen out, our squad is not good enough that we can ignore him. I think he has to be our number 9 until January tbh
Said before today, Swans, BC & Blackburn was unacceptable & now we have PNE to add. Anyone who gives any defence to the shambles we are, are deluded. Bottom half survival seems to be SR’s goal & to build better next season. Sorry but finances will be gone & we’ll be going same way.
I was quite staggered by that interview. Struck mw that he is on the way out especially when asked what the solution is. FWIW , i thought PNE were surprisingly good.
They weren’t that good really, just disciplined. Basically your bog standard mid-table championship side. Very little quality but just well drilled and organised. Much better than Blackburn, Swansea & Sheffield United though. But we are clearly levels and levels below that. We don’t have the basics of football covered.
They were everything we lack. As a great man once said, hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard.
This International break is only 10 games since the close of the window, something almost everyone said was the barometer to judge Still on.
Really? Most around me were saying things like ‘we’re making them look good’. Credit to them for taking what chances they had. But that’s it.
I've waited until I got home, dried off, warmed up, had a cup of tea, ate a whole dominoes pizza (which I now regret) and worked on some code before replying. I'm in the camp that felt that it needed time to fix the issues and I still do think it needs time to fix the issues. However each game that passes reinforces the fact the team is not remotely close to fixing any of the issues. I don't know if it's manager, players, backroom staff, recruitment, the tea lady (maybe not her), the board, the owner or all of it but right now I'm at a loss to come up with any form of sensible post to sum up today's game. This time next week it's not outside the realms of possibility that we will have lost to both QPR and Sheffield Wednesday everyone around us wins and we are only above Wednesday because of their points deduction. I don't think that there can be a way back from that without some pretty drastic changes
Draw against QPR and a win against Wednesday is likely. Today was rubbush and not the response expected after Blackburn. Not sure we have the squad to turn this around but believe we need a coach to come in and assist Still at the very least. I do think he will be binned this week if we do not take 4 of the 6 points available. The comments in the Blackmore interview were suggestive of other issues within the club.
We have won 7.84% of our last 51 league matches. This club is rotten to the core under the stewardship of SR. The long suffering fans have had enough and are now turning on these joke of owners, and pathetic excuse of a first team squad. But WS should and hopefully will be fired this weekend. Out of his depth.
Oh and I’m sorry Nathan Wood, but you have been part of the 7.84% squad from the start and you definitely shouldn’t be giving hand signals not once but twice, to the long suffering fans. Not acceptable especially after the performances you’ve put in the past few games.
Probably expected a nice little round of applause like normal from the happy clappers and was a bit put out. "Oh didn't they try their best, let's give them a nice little clap for their efforts"
This is a must listen. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0md5hp8?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile
