Half this squad have been promoted out of this league before. Azaz and Fellows more than proven at this level. Edwards was fantastic in this league last season. How can they all suddenly turn crap this season despite pervious success?
The players can all (not you Leo) **** off too. Look at the ****ing reaction. Scumbags the lot of 'em
I tend to agree, but perhaps there was a big part of most the players being trained by the manager thinking what a load of bollocks. **** tactics. **** formations and ****ter subs. Maybe this could be a big factor, they just weren’t playing for him and were baffled. My biggest fear now isn’t going down, it’s Russel Martin coming back.
I'm not saying we should appoint him, but last night Robbie Savage inspired his players to nearly produce an epic comeback against a higher division opponent. We need a manager with a similar sort of personality - like you say, can get them going.
I just did a little sick in my mouth (particularly when you remember that Solak seems to like him). I honestly think Adkins is a terrible manager, but I'd rather even him.
New team, style of play etc always plays a part, but coming into a team that almost equalled the PL record lowest points tally must be something else to navigate.
Because we don’t have the same players as last season. Surely even you, the most positive person in the world, realise the manager is out of his depth. We have a squad good enough for top 6, maybe even the autos. We are almost in the relegation zone. Perhaps, just maybe, the manager is totally out of his depth and was the wrong hire?
Yeah, this is the key for me. I'm normally very sceptical of the whole "give the manager time" thing. I always look back to when Poch came in and made an obvious difference after only a couple of days. In this case I thought Still might actually need some time, partly because we had so much change to the squad in the summer and partly because he wants the players to think for themselves and they've been micromanaged for years now. But we're going backwards and he - like the last few managers - doesn't seem to have a clue what to do about it. Agree with this too. I definitely think something isn't right with the squad's mindset and hasn't been right for a very long time. There may even be more to it than that.
We've got the players no doubt even if we could do with a better keeper and a strong goalscoring CF. Still has dug his own grave by not playing the obvious XI in the most favourable formation (his favourite). No more chances now, I suspect that the players are no longer playing for him, get in Carrick or Carsley asap.
Style of play yeah, it is shocking. What I mean is that these players clearly have the ability to be pushing for promotion, or at least mid table at the very least. I dont buy the argument that it's the players because the majority of them have been and done it elsewhere. The manager is clearly the main problem.
I've said that already. We don't have a squad good enough for autos, top 6, maybe. I think people did the classic thing of overestimating the squad after a positive summer window. We have a lot of depth, but no game changers as of yet.
