Funny how on a thread about Spurs' prospects if winning the league, HIAG is more obsessed with my opinion about Wenger. It's like trolling him without even trying
See thats a dangerous stance to take with any staff member, in any job. To say to them, no matter what you do, you will not be sacked. Or like wise in the case of Pellegrini at City, "No matter what you do, you are sacked!" Doesnt breed ambition.
Agree with this. I think Wenger has done so much for the club that he's become untouchable, but that's not necessarily healthy. I do however think though that he would walk away if he wasn't able to cut it anymore. The pelligrini case is the other the end of the spectrum, you're sacked whatever happens. There has to be a happy medium in there somewhere.
i think Piskie's problem is that his loyalties are torn. On the one hand he knows change is required for his club to go forward. on the other hand he is very loyal to a manager who has been very successful for Arsenal. id have the same dilemma.
Then why is he still there now? I dont think Wenger has that part of his brain that would allow him to admit defeat, he is as stubborn as a mule. I have said for the last 4 years, I fear the day Arsenal get a decent manager, because your club has the groundwork laid to dominate, and yes, a lot of that is because of Wenger, but he is incapable of taking you to the next level (The actual domination part), even when he was winning league titles, he was never able to win back to back titles, and he really should have won at least one European Cup considering he has had 20 cracks at it.
... I have it on good authority that Wenger has been sent many communications terminating his contract with the Gooners ... he just didn't see them ...
He was very loyal to Santa Claus too. He was the last person in his class to carry on believing in Saint Nic
Wenger has been successful in relative terms. Successful in terms of keeping them in the CL on a shoe string. Problem is though, now they are not financially impeded and are able to go to that next level (which Arsenal fans logically assumed was the point of moving into a 60,000 seater stadium), Wenger and/or the board are refusing to actually take the plunge and are happy to just drag their dicks along.
Cech out now for a month: your only player with any bottle. Does PIXIE still believe in fairies, pixies, Santa Claus ...and that Arsene can turn around the Barca tie and title challenge???
You are being unnaturally kind to Pixie, Spurlock. It is to your credit, I suppose. However, you need to bear something in mind. Have you ever been in a dangerous situation with a group of people, and the person who is leading the dilemma is someone whom neither you nor anyone else in the group has any faith in? All of you know that if you keep following this bloke, he is going to get you killed. Yes, on the one hand, an objective observer might say that the person is "loyal" to a certain way of doing things, and that he is showing courage in his convictions. However, another, equally objective observer might say that the person is a complete and utter twat, who, if he persists with his fcukwitted plan, ought to have the crap kicked out of him for the overall benefit of the rest of the group. The way I see it is that Pixie has allowed his sentimental attachment to Wenger to get in the way of Arsenal's plan. Pixie would rather, stubbornly, follow Wenger over the cliff that everyone else can see is where he's headed, than to join the majority in kicking Wenger's sorry ass off that cliff before heading off in another direction. See, Spurlock! In reality, there is no dilemma.
PIXIE's devotion to the leader of his cult was under question on Tuesday. Maybe But it is good to see he has been brainwashed by the Arsenal press office once more. Santa Claus is well and alive again
Indeed, CFC, there is no doubt that Pixie wavered in his faith on Tuesday, by suggesting that it is time for Wenger to go. But it's as though he suffered a real crisis of confidence during the night, because he's come back denying that he ever doubted Wenger. It's quite pitiable, really, watching Pixie go through this turmoil. He so desperately wants it to be all right, and for Wenger to pull something out of the hat - he's been hoping that for the last decade - but there is obviously a part of his brain that is letting the cold, harsh light of reality filter into his conscience, telling him that it simply is never going to happen.
So what time is the title deciding NLD chaps? Will the goons continue to flop at the business end of the season causing "wenger out" protests and fly by banners? Will spurs finally finish above their fiercest rivals after 50 odd years and shed the title of 2nd best in norf lundaan? very exciting times, even for us neutrals, looking forward to this game as it should be a cracker.
