I like the Soldado/Adebayor partnership, even if they both drop deep, as that can be worked on. I think on MOTD they said we have got 5 wins and 2 draws when Ade & Soldado have started.
Reading the link below I would say he at least has the right attitude. The fact that he recognises that his form is bad and wants to do something about it is good news. He blames himself 'only' also which says something about his character. Sometimes though you can end up putting too much pressure on yourself. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...triker-roberto-soldado-will-continue-battling
You didn't watch Keown on motd then, he reckoned Ade and Bobby don't work. Take away the bitter goon factor (don't think he's like that about us anyway), but he did highlight many instances of massive distance between them or they're stood next to each other, don't play like a traditional 'front2'. To him they looked more like two strikers playing one up top like the other one doesn't exist. Have to say it does look like that qutie a lot of the time, there were a few examples where RS turned down a semi difficult pass to put Ade in, in favour of a simpler pass in the another direction. Weird. I'll need to watch some more.
I did see that, and yes he had a point yet I can see signs that it could work, just its going to mean Ade and Soldado working together in training. If they choose not to try and work on their parrtnership, then it will be as Keown says, not looking to play off each other, yet still, each game they have played together they have linked up. Soldado setup Adebayor away to Southampton to score and Adebayor linked up with Soldado to score past weekend, so it can work. Do you remember the SAS (Sutton and Shearer). Shearer was on MOTD awhile back and he said him and Sutton worked together in training as he knew otherwise they wouldn't be as successful. Does Soldado speak much English?....!
Definitely signs that it can become a successful partnership. Some partnerships luckily blossom instantly (Keane & Berba, Suarez & Sturridge, Long & Jelavic are looking good so far too) and some take time. Both Ade and Bobby are top strikers on their day and their different styles can compliment each other superbly if they learn one another's game better.
