Not that different. That sentence could've just recently been written about Dimitar Berbatov. Great finisher, lazy as hell.
I remember it well.... I ran on the pitch and got myself arrested when County scored their 2nd goal. The lads I was with were well pissed off as I was the designated driver that day A bit foolish as earlier that season I got arrested at a FA Cup game for something very similar.... In fact it was at Notts County too !!! What a dick head @MaradonerKebab ..... Don't tell your mam !!!
Back on topic.... In my opinion a player remains a legend for as long as the fans chant their names.... I never saw Charlie Hurley play but sang his name in the Fullwell End... "The greatest centre half" etc etc My first hero was Gary Rowell and I still love singing his name even now!!! One of the highlights of 'The Great Escape' season was the Swansea game when chants from yesteryear rang round the stadium... It was fantastic to sing them again... Super Kev, Quinnys Disco Pants, Lee Howeys brother, Cheer up P.Reid, Who needs Cantona when we've got Dickie Ord, Bally Bally, Gary Rowell world etc etc L'est we not forget
I've been arrested at Notts County, too . . . . for taking the piss Literally for 'urinating in a public place' . . . . although it wasn't funny at the time I later found out that my mate had been arrested too . . . . for 'entering a football stadium whilst under the influence of alcohol' (or something damn close to that description) This must have been about 1995 I think
