Whilst I think we can cope, I can't agree Clyne is no loss. He has been excellent for most of this season. Keeping him means we don't have to find a replacement and also suggests that not all players are pushing to leave.

If I was Ron, I'd make Charlie Austin the priority. Hope Reed can step up to replace Morgon, Clyne will be no great loss if he does go. Someone who can score goals though, that's what we need.

I don't think its quite as simple as, "someone who can score goals". Pelle was scoring goals when the team was playing well. He was never a Suarez type who can create his own chances but there aren't many of those around. So, its more to do with how the team is playing as a whole.

The biggest difference I can see in the second half of the season is less movement and creation of space. You watch Arsenal (or Bournemouth), the movement of the front players is non-stop, pulling the defence all over the place. We did that well in the first half of the season but less so latterly.

All true. He's a hard to find replacement if its Clyne from the first half of the season. Not so much if his form from the last 2 months continues. As others have pointed though, out the whole right side of play has been lacking, not just Clyne.

Can't argue with any of that, but... Austin is a better player. More clinical, younger and quicker. Pelle has missed a lot of good chances this season.

I think we struggle with a natural Right sided plater.. our left footers are dragging there self to much in to the middle, thus making us stuggle to drag players put of position, teams know this and exploit it. If jay comes back ok, against villa for a bit on the right, can see it making a difference.

My mum used to warn me off left footers... Then I married one

That and the 'other' stuff the player contributes with.

It is a difficult one. I would love SKD to get a great send off and his 300th game. I also understand that Gazza needs a chance. I thought he did ok on Saturday. He sliced a clearance that was about the worst of it. What little handling he had to do, he did well and made a good save from a one v one.

Whatever they do, we need a new GK this summer.

That polish lad playing down at Bournemouth could be worth a shout.
