Just watched Sherwood's final presser on the BBC and warmed to him, found myself thinking "if it comes to it, what about a straight swap with Poch?", then thought "maybe not."

Seconded (or thirded). Keeping positive, I can't see us doing anything that Everton hasn't done.

Going to be an interesting few weeks. Only two days in and West Brom and Spurs already joined the manager hunt.

I've just voted for David Moyes....another 6 month managerial appointment followed by a big compensation agreement!

He's just been sacked by Ipswich, so yes.

Joking aside, if he manages his career well, I wouldn't mind betting he'll get there eventually. I'm sure thats his dream job.

He played for and managed their local rivals. I reckon he's more of a Real Madrid man.

If I recall correctly, the article in the program on him and his family earlier in the season, would suggest that he'd be a Barcelona man.

Dunno BT. Could be Poch, Moyes, DeBoer, Pepe Mel. Could be anybody, when it comes to Spurs.

One thing. Mel was a bad fit for WBA, and a similar uneasy fit would be for Poch and Spurs.

Cortese cherry picked Poch because he fitted the vision. Spurs might plump for Poch because he's out there and he's been impressive here. They might as well talk to Poyet. It's the same deal, although Gus has been a very popular Spurs player in the past, so I suspect they might consider him.

The almost certain thing you'll get with Spurs though is that they'll be picking a new manager by this time next season too.

Adam Blackmore says if Tottenham want to speak to Pochettino and offer him the job then the compensation to Saints is £2m.

I heard not so long ago they might want Allegri. His odds aren't the best though.

Suggests he is on circa £40k a week. Not bad for a manager!

Tottenham = 8 permanent managers ten years.
Champion's League or the sack as a target
Chances of successfully overhauling the existing top four + Man Utd investing heavily over the summer? 0%
MP would be daft to take this on!

The betting market's all over the place. 888 and Unibet have De Boer as odds on favourite, while Stan James have him as big as 3/1. Shortest price on Pochettino is Corals at even money.

Is it the norm to pay off the remainder of the contract? I have no idea on that. I wondered if we'd have hoped for more compo than just the balance of his contract.

All depends on whether he gets full backing from Ralph etc as to whether he walks, and I think he won't be short of offers.
