Catchy <ok> You after Platini's job?

I think gollum could take the mancs to at least the semis this season. Chelsea won the whole thing with the sort of anti-football Moyes is adept at employing. In a way I hope he does (not to win it though obviously). A trip to the quarters or semis would mask their obvious short comings and keep Mr Hoof It in a job a bit longer :)

reckon theres a good chance they could win it unfortunately.

not a lot is probably expected of them, bit like us in 05.

This is all a bit short-sighted isn't it?
One impressive win and they're going to win it, just like one abysmal defeat in the PL and Spurs will "never recover".
Still a long way to go, in both instances.

    eh.. no.

the mancs are making out that cos dortmund and bayern were in the final last year that leverkusen must be top class too... in fact leverkusen are pretty weak.

Utd need a kind draw to progress in the knockout stages. Last year was quite unkind but they "nearly" did it. so in fact without ferguson if they draw a decent outfit then it'll be a proper test.

Any decent outfit that win an easy group should expect a second seed team to play in round one. I expect the mancs to get that easier draw perhaps and continue on but to the SEMIS....

RVP and rooney are good but to carry utd to the semis past any of dortmund, real, barca, bayern or the rest? Ok if they draw arsenal i reckon they have the beating of arsenal...

like i said its a test. easy draw v hard draw, then what.

    examples:

UTD v juve or olympiakos or basle (ha ha)

    Or

Utd v benfica, AC milan, Porto/zenit, Dortmund.

would you put money on utd against the second lot like you would v the first lost

What i should have been more clear on is i was talking about the quarter finals having doubted utd would get to the semis. I was postulating that if utd got arsenal in the QF that i'd fancy them then.

A last 8 for the CL should likely look like:

Bara, Real, Dortmund, Bayern, city, arsenal.... plus two.. who knows but if you put say chelsea and utd in there very generously and even dropped city out... do you see utd beating any/all of these sides... under moyes...

Nobody expected Moyes to beat Leverkusen (who had not lost a match at home this season) 5-0! <whistle>

    Few did.

Even fewer expected us to qualify.

Now all of a sudden we had an easy group.

    Football fans eh, morons.

Yes is the answer you are looking for.

Bayern are the only side to be concerned about, they are far better than the rest.

  17. I said you'd had a got lucky with the group when it was drawn and a ball was kicked! You've done pretty much as I expected.

Must have been an easy group or Moyes would have had a whinge about it.
