No wish to alert any vultures - though I bet they are well and truly 'alerted' by now anyway.
Can we hang on to the most potentially exciting talent to wear the shirt in years?

I don't see why not - he MUST be pretty much the first name on the teamsheet, he's obviously gaining vastly from having Wessi as a mentor and it's blindingly obvious that he's enjoying playing football, he's loving DF and his coaches training and also bring given every possible opportunity of showcasing his immense skills/talent.
I daresay that several coaches from PL teams have been to watch him in action and that his agent has paid a deposit on a new car/house/exotic holiday (if not ALL 3), but I'm 75/25% sure he'll be here at least until the end of the season.

Jacob Murphy may fortunately provide a cautionary tale for Maddison. If our form through to January is half as good as the last few weeks, then we're going to be comfortably in play-off contention. In that situation, I can't see Maddison choosing to leave for too many teams. Interest from Spurs would perhaps tempt him, given Pochettino's record of bringing young players into the first team, but otherwise I think first team football with us will keep him interested until the summer.

I think it’s pretty obvious that he’s going to leave us at some point because he’s absolutely class.

I know every fan says this about their best players, but I really think it’s far too early for him to leave us - he’s got a lot of room for development still, will go through a tough patch etc. You only have to look at (other) Murphy at Newcastle

Our whole attacking plan seems to be: no one knows what to do with it, give it to Maddison and shoot from distance and hope.

    If he does go...good lord...

Perhaps we can get rid of Hoolahan then, looks like he's finished for the season.

Todd Cantwell in the under 23s is a bit raw, but COULD step up.
If you're free on 26th Nov at 2pm come and see him and Middleton V Villa under 23s. You can bribe the gf by taking her for lunch at the Angel Gardens where you can get a great Sunday roast from £6 and some cracking ales/ciders to wash it down.

Good call canario - I thought he was terrible yesterday and it seemed like very few of his passes went to a player in yellow and green!!!!

Is it true that CJ had a blinder and if it wasn't for a goalie being superb, would have had at least a hat trick? Or was that an unlikely dream?

We need to sell Maddison to fund the exorbitant wages of Naismith <ok>

I'd be happy to let him go on a free if it meant we could realistically look at a goal scorer in January - we ought to be able get one for less than £40k a week, FFS <grr>

I hope so - he's just been called up to the England U21 Squad for the first time to play against the Ukraine. About time he got the recognition he deserves

That's great news for Madders! No rest for the weary, though.
