Woohoo, a 2-1 win.

Not exactly convincing but it's three points on the board and the first win of the season out of the way.

 

Not impressed, last weekend much better but it's a win and we move on. We will perform better against better quality sides, this sort of opponent doesn't suit us!

 

Jackson looked far livelier than ladapo.
Aluko much better than Chaplin.
JJ far more energy and guile than harness.
Leigh looks better than Davis

 

I didnt watch or listen, but it seems a good 3pts. Overall dominant display
with a wobble, and then seeing game out, when last season we would have conceded silly late goals.

We now have four times as many points as we did at this stage of last season...
and some will try and downplay today’s result in the grand scheme of a long season… but getting the win against a confident promoted team is a monkey off our back.

We’ve now take a point off Bolton, who are strong, when we got zero last term. And we’ve beaten a promoted club.

We now go into the MK Dons with significant pressure off us.. and more on the opposition.

A much better start, and others will comment on player performances. Burns is a worry and isnt firing yet.

 

Always difficult to give an assessment based solely on news of the result, but can't turn nose up at 4 points from first six on offer.

Still sounds like there's some integration to be done and tweaks to be made to maintain a promotion push but today feels like a game we would have thrown away last season.

Add that to not being beaten by Bolton last week and easy to see evidence of positive progress.

Still only 2 games in but happy with all news so far.

 

Agreed Mike, and seems a more settled team. Just seeing the game out thru absurd extra 9 mins was good to hear!

 

Needed the win to get our season up and running. Squad does seem to be settled with decent cover in almost every position. My only concern is what happens if Morsy gets injured. Drives the team forward, really hard worker and is everything you want a captain to be.

 

Him and Walton are crucial to the team's success.
