One thing that is quite encouraging is that Ward has turned down the DoF post at Plymuff, which is assume is a 'permanent' role, in favour of coming to us only 'til the end of the season.

He's given up job security for a chance to be a proper manager again, instead of a DoF figure. He clearly thinks that he can keep us up and therefore get the job permanently. It's a risk for him.

Who's got more dosh to spend in January - us or Plymuff? Ward clearly thinks it's us, or otherwise he would have been off down the M5....

not including caretakers.... penney, buckle and mcghee.
including caretakers.... paterson, penney, campbell, buckle, north and mcghee

thats in the last 2 years. looks bad but add trollope full period in with it then that an extra 5 years on his own.

Allowing for Trolls 5 years and the caretakers that's technically 9 managers in 7 years <laugh>

fuxake Wardy will be our lucky 10th <doh>

By the way CJS - have you just filled your blue 'points' bar?

If so, congratulations! <bubbly> I think you're the first Gashead on here to do so. A true stalwart! <ale>

Right. I'm off down Cribbs for some Christmas shopping, although I would much rather be down the pub on my day off! <ale>

Dear Santa, please bring me a competent manager who will get my beloved Bristol Rovers out of our current predicament and moving back up the table. Oh, and send City down whilst you're at it.

Thanks

Mr Baldee (Blue) age 45 and a half.

And to think I deal with commercial contracts for a living <yikes>

ps; I am born bred and resident of North Bristol. It's Mrs Gas who's from the South. She had to be dumb to marry me :D

Ward's got a good record and enough experience to steady the ship. He was definitely one of our better managers. I'm sure he'll appreciate having a proper office this time rather than a portacabin!

His teams have won more games than they've lost, and Stewart had his best season at Rovers while Ward was here.

Good appointment!
