"I'm not saying we love him because everyone hates him for the over-the-top sensationalist media smear campaign against him." I do, partly.
How everyone laughed when the little ginger scamp punched the ball off the line against Fulham, and tried to palm one in in a Super Cup final. The greasy dago did that and he's Beelzebub's left gonad. We'll show the Sudac not to be racist, eh?
Surprise, surprise that Phil my pockets with Fergie's brown envelopes Dowd was on his side. That lard-bucket reminds me of Hank from Breaking Bad - except that Hank is good at his job.
Did you bleat on about RvP and his attempted leg breakers? Drogba the worst diver the league has ever seen. Why are we not just banning stereo, he's a tool not bothered in debate
Bio of a nobody, must be a great seller, a drop in a sea of bio books from players we actually have heard of
I was initially surprised at how exaggerated the media treatment of any Suarez incident was, but I'm used to it now. The media just reflects the average view* and, other than fans who support(ed) teams he's in, most people just dislike him. I heard some rival fan cite Suarez's biting incident when he was in Holland. I thought I'd give it a watch and see how bad it was. Going off what the rival fan was saying I was expecting a Mike Tyson / Hannibal Lecter scene. It was a major anti-climax. I've seen worse bites at Playschool. Most people slagging Suarez off said that he bit the guy's neck, but it was his collar bone / chest area (he rubbed the site afterwards). There was no blood and the guy was smiling about it less than a minute or so later. Hilarious, really. *It's hard to extract yourself from the zeitgeist, even as a writer, I suppose. The one thing I like about Suarez is that he never lets any of this bother him, and he goes about taking his revenge by scoring or setting up goals. Hopefully, more teams can wind him up this season and he becomes the run away top scorer of premiership!
I don't remember Huth's stamp on Suarez being all over the papers either. In fact it was celebrated. If people can say their isn't a smear campaign and an anti-Suarez agenda in the media with a straight face they really our incredibly thick or wilfully ignorant due to their hatred and jealousy of him.
Williams didn't say anything to the papers. They plucked the quote from a paragraph in his book. I think a few people here should know their facts before posting.
Ah! It's OK for other fans to make derogatory comments and chant insulting things about Suarez before "knowing their facts" but not for us? If you and your mates dish it out then don't come here crying.
another example of guys who should save the book writing unitl the end of thier careers... just a general point but how many guys seem to be doing this media stuff as soon as ever they can and talking themselves into problems.
I would find Suarez infuriating to play against. he is a superb player, which is annoying, and also he does sometimes partake in a little "gamesmanship" which can also be annoying
Williams is just saying how he felt at the time & giving his honest opinion on Suarez, as part of his 'diary' book. The press have seized on that section due to the forthcoming game this weekend & the fact that Suarez is the current cartoon hate figure in the game & is currently good headline fodder.
I also know for a fact as do many that play, we are different on the pitch, I become 100 times more aggressive when playing a match. Totally fired up, have abused refs and my own defenders and even threatened to beat a CB once or twice too, things I would never ever do off the pitch. But Suarez must be just a dirty evil guy. The media always argue that if you took the fire out of rooney there's not much left, they were totally fkn right Long may he continue exactly as he is
People talk of Huth, what RvP has done more than once now and got away with it is far worse, RvP has a little nasty streak too the fk. He commits leg breaker over the top straight leg chickenshit tackles ala lucas neil. Huth was never going to cause damage. But Huth got off clean which proves an FA agenda too, they could and should have charged Huth.
