Its great that the fans all agree we shouldnt be spending, whod have thought wed be saying that 5 years ago.

Harry has to quit or hes going to look like a fool but I doubt it will be soon. Hes got 6 weeks paid holiday so if it was going to happen, it would either be before the start or pre season or a couple of weeks before or after the start of the season.

Barton and SWP cost us about £12m each. Hardly good value.

Harry has played himself out of a role by essentially check-mating himself! Not a very clever strategy whatever the outcome... He goes (preferably) and he's left wider society aware that he is an underlined failure when inheriting a difficult position (Southampton and now Rangers!). He stays and he has egg on his face from top to toe in the club - how can he call for commitment from any of his squad when he threatens to leave at the first sign of difficulty?

Bottom line is that this will not work until there is a top-down unified commitment between the board, management and coaching staff to see a complete overhaul of the squad; any one of these working effectively in isolation just won't work!

If he resigns he won't get a payoff, so he's trying to get himself sacked.

Its obvious he doesn't have the stomach to work on a strict budget and rebuild the squad so he's trying to get himself kicked out of the club with a massive payoff. He probably thought he was going to have the pick of the best championship players when QPR went down to bring them back up but he's found out he's got a tiny budget and he's not happy.

I fascinated to read these comments as they precisely echo those of Saints fans when he took us down. During our first season in the Championship it was clear that his heart wasn't in second tier football and he quickly accepted the overtures from Portsmouth. History shows that Redknapp can turn a club around and rescue the team from the threat of relegation yet the previous posts are correct insofar that his behaviour at both Saints and Rangers illustrates his fear of being exposed in the Championship.

I'm not sure that Redknapp is a "dinosaur" but what is clear is that he cannot function without dealing and when stuck with a budget i think he gets found out quite quickly. To be honest, I'm not surprised by his behaviour (especially his bad habit of conducting his business through the media) and I quite expect him to have walked prior to the close of next season. The sad thing is that Redknapp tends to leave "smaller" clubs such as Saints, portsmouth and QPR in dire straights and the financial restrictions he will have to work in will not be to his liking. As you can guess, I'm not fan of Redknapp and was quite pleased to see him fail last season although it is a shame that it had to be Rangers - a time I feel sympathy for and recognise as being of the same standing as Southampton. I can't see that his continued employment at Loftus Road is what your club particularly needs and I would suggest that you see his name being angled around Christmas time as soon as one of the clubs starts to find itself in difficulty in the PL.

Whatever the reason, if he is going, the sooner the better, so we can bring someone in this summer to rebuild the squad and regain the confidence and stability that we are currently sadly missing.

I know, that's why it makes me laugh when people think free equals good value or little risk.

Its a much higher risk than spending money on a player with lower wages and a resale value.

Would you rather have a free kia car that costs a grand a week to run and you can't give it away or a ford that cost thirty grand but you could make a profit on.
