I'm in agreement with Smithers, let's see what happens when he starts buying. He did some decent business in January, got some players I doubt he would have at Stoke. Maybe it's just being in London that was easier to attract them, or maybe leaving us gave him a bit of a kick up the arse, but after leaving he defended his style by basically saying you do what you can with the players you've got, and he'd play a different style if he had Chelsea's squad, despite the fact that it was him buying more expensive versions of the players we'd already got!
But credit to him, Palace have really surprised me since he took over. I knew he could get them organised and hard to beat, but it was too late to be relying on one point at a time.
