You've hit the nail right on the head there, mate. There are better players than Bent - Gyan and Welbeck being two of them. But if you needed a goal in the last five minutes of a Cup Final, which of them would you put your money on? At the end of January, I wrote on here 'Make no mistake, we will miss Darren Bent'. There aren't too many strikers around so focussed as him. I've even seen him look disappointed when someone else got a goal for us - not out of dislike for them, but because he wanted it so much. He really is a terrific striker. People will write about the sitters he misses - but when you talk about Kevin Phillips, no one mentions the season when he missed so many penalties that he wouldn't take any more. What we remember is Kevin's goals. The misses mean nothing. Every striker does that.

You're right - where DO we find another Bent?

Looking at those fixtures I have a feeling we will not lose any of them. I think we will get a scrappy win against WBA and then we will raise our game against Arsenal to get a draw. A draw vs Bolton away and then a win vs Villa who are nowhere near as good as people think. My money is on Bent being injured for the Villa game.

My best mate was on the A1 for years catching speeders and clearing up after accidents, loved the driving but hated the accidents and said he could not wait to retire. He then retired and didnt like it so got a job, one he still does. He does the escort for wide loads, yep you guessed it, spends his days driving along the same A1 he longed to leave.

They say its a funny old world.
