We need Baldini to work as a Dof (or whatever his title is) as Levy wants this system in place, its part of his vision it seems, to have a Dof in charge of transfers, who he can trust to invest in players to achieve champions league football. Hopefully we can keep this current system, keep players which are success this year and plan early for next season, and if we follow that type of process then maybe we can actually get somewhere, instead of missing out on our targets by a single point or two.
Good analysis, Boss. Our problem in the past, for whatever the reason, has been the two-fold disruptions caused by managerial changes and the loss of key players at the point at which we begin to break through. We need to break that cycle.
He is being paid to further the careers of the club's young stars, it's not as if Spurs are signing his paycheck. Even a blind squirrel occasionally comes up with an acorn...
And back to the subject matter... I still think he'll be leaving during this window...the gossips have slowed remarkably this past week, Spurs employees have been told to shut their gobs, and Spurs continue to find ways of spending money. All this leads me to think it's a done deal that he's leaving and Spurs want to keep a lid on the deal to sell Bale whilst they are looking for new players to join. Equally, I doubt the transfer value of Bale is more than what RM paid for Ronaldo!
His transfer value is what the selling club are prepared to sell him for,Levy thinks his Value is more,so if Real won't pay it,i doubt they will get him
So far, we haven't even spent the new TV money, let alone any of the Bale money. (using rough measurements - TV money £35m - current net spend approx £30m) We could spend another £55m, if indeed Mr Lewis, is putting in £50m, and still not touch the 'Bale money'.
Oh, how I hope you are right! Just think how fantastic it would be for a happy Bale to turn out for us, in the coming season, and for Arsenal not to strengthen significantly! Plus, with the prospect of a weakened United entering into its own particular Brave New World post-Fergie.
So do I HIAG. I've been moaning about ENIC for years, when most people seem to think they're doing a grand job. Well, this COULD be the year I join the ENIC fan club, we'll see.
Bale's now on posters for Lucozade Sport, so that must mean he's staying. Well that's better logic than the reasons Marca/Murdoch's Evil Empire say he's leaving for...
Did anyone notice the BT advert on TV last night, during the England v Scotland game? It showed every player for a good few seconds, except for Bale. Right towards the end of the advert, you were shown the merest glimpse of what was clearly Bale in a Spurs shirt, but it was so fast that it was on the point of being subliminal. That's got me worried. Why would BT gloss so quickly over their main poster-boy, if he wasn't off?
but he's just going back ON the BT posters. Maybe they just don't have a bloody clue what they are doing? Also, if he was going, why leave even the briefest glimpse?
What the hell have BT got to do with whether we sell our prize asset or not? They've no more knowledge about what's going on than the rest of us. They're guessing.
I said the same thing to my daughter last night. She assured me he was featured heavily at the beginning of the ad?
Yes I think you are wanted on the transfer thread, something about Roo signing for someone. I'm sure it's all just paper talk but I'm sure you can handle it Spurm
