Feel genuinely sorry for you guys today. Like most of you (I assume ?) I thought Bale had a little bit of class, in interviews he stood out as a true club man, heard stories of him walking to the ground mingling with fans, I even saw a Sky Sports special last year on a terminally ill kid whose dream it was to meet the players and Bale showed him around the training ground, gave him signed boots, put him in a hospitality box for a game, pretty much doing everything he could to make this kids day, I really thought the guy had something you see little of these days with footballers. But refusing to train with the club who have paid his wages for years (as well as a fairly lumpy transfer fee) is low and sadly his true colours shine through. We had it for years with Vieira, Henry, Hleb, Cesc and others being hounded by Spanish clubs/players, it's part of their classless culture so no-one shouldn't expect any better from them, but I think you were entitled to expect a little better from a player you have worshiped. Actually I think as a club you will be better without him (with your additions) but the league will be weaker and there's that bad taste left of player power winning over again, sad....
Good post. No real fan likes to see that sort of behaviour and I was disapproving of suarez earlier this window too. It does seem to happen to us a lot: berba, modric, bale. I too got fooled by bale, not again, love the badge not the player
I will continue to believe that this is the work of his agent until It's proved otherwise. I would expect Bale to say something decent about Spurs once he has signed for Madrid. He has IMO done what he's been told throughout this saga. He has provided us with some great entertainment during his career at Spurs and I'll remember him for that.
That's a very magnanimous statement. The club you support were paying his wages this week whilst he refused to attend training. I don't doubt the role of agents but refusing to train shows disrespect on a level I've not seen for a while. I applaud your attitude but over time I'm sure you will piece together all the inconsistent statements made in recent weeks/months and realise teh betrayal...

He will by then be History as far as Spurs are concerned, we have moved on. We now have quality all over the park and on the bench and as the season moves on we will have reason to thank Bale. I don't think you wil find any Spurs fans feeling sorry for themselves right now. Unless they've lost their dog of course.
Bale from what has been said, is quiet, a level headed guy, a family man, gets on well with his team mates, manager and doesn't have an attitude so i must admit earlier on today I was disappointed to hear how Bale has reacted but now I've thought about it more, and in reality what is the point in turning up for training? to kick a ball, smile with team mates and a club you don't wish to play for? "break ups" are never easily done in football and I expect Bale does have respect for the fans/club and manager but has allowed himself to be dragged into the shady behaviour lead by todays agents. I made a point earlier on about how Klinsmann acted in leaving us for Bayern, he done it with class and showed respect to the fans, but that was a man, he had experience and knew how to act with a club which gave him a chance to revive the excitement in his career. Bale unfortunately is still a boy, and much like Berba & Modric has decided they have to leave us, but I still have great memories of Berba, great memories of Modric and Bale is a superb player who I have great memories of and I know he loved his time with us, and I hope he goes onto to become a huge success as we shouldn't want our great players to fail. If you look at recent years, Berba, Modric, Redknapp, Bale, even going back to Keane, these people give us great memories yet most fans take pleasure if they screw up, we shouldn't want them to fail and in this instance I actually believe Bale will turn into a great player with Madrid.
I can think of worse ways to show you respect a club that's nurtured you into one of the top talents and your teammates who you supposedly get on so well with anyway. Bale failing to turn up for training has forced AVB to come out and say he's leaving which in turn will probably cost us money and make negotiations more difficult. No doubt the ramifications won't have crossed Bale's mind as it's not in his agent's interest to get him to behave, if anything he's probably been telling Bale to do it for ages. This is why I don't judge him too harshly for whatt he's done, I think it's a mistake he's made with poor advisors around him but he's still acted like a spoiled prick so that's how I'll still describe the move to break his contract. I just don't think that he is a spoiled prick. Vertonghen showed exactly how it's done and despite Ajax trying to avoid paying him what he's due he still turned up for training out of respect for the club as a whole, the teammates and the fans. What a top bloke we have at our club
Not at all. But with all these new players coming in, that does not mean that Dawson will remain the best choice for captain. Being the most senior Spurs player should not be the basis upon which a club chooses its captain. Dawson shouldn't get the arm-band purely by default.
