I agree Col, it was a blasé response to Flyers flippant remark that if we went down having lost Saturday it was due to not getting rid sooner. Hopefully I've expanded above but not sure you'd have read that before posting.
As you know Col stability has been key to all my arguments on here during this season but what I watched on saturday destroys any hope I had of MH bringing stability to us.He has got to go now.TF will rue the day if he doesnt act.He was there on saturday and saw the scenes ab the end when the players came off the pitch expecting us to clap them off.How they were mistaken the look on some off there faces was priceless.
Point taken mate. I do think we are getting perilously close to a huge fans' backlash, firstly against Hughes, but then, against the board if they don't do something about him. I don't think it will happen, but can you imagine the atmosphere on Saturday if 'Arry was introduced prior to KO?
Seeing the reaction at Stoke once that starts is hard to stop.TF will see that and hear it again on Saturday if we lose.Never been a Arry fan but at least the players love him something that MH has not mastered.
Brilliant and refreshing alternative viewpoint 74. I think a successful businessman with £75M odd to gain and £15M odd to lose is probably in the best position to balance the short term needs with the long term commitments already made. He might not have the football fanatic background of fans on here but the one thing we do know about him is he makes sure he has people around him that he can trust in all aspects. I wouldn't exclude advisors on the football management side from this. Good post.
Not sure about that percentage but agree he's past that point. To kick on from here would be a miracle. An away win or a win against a top side might instill some confidence but against a team one place above us at home? Wouldn't discount MH being sacked after a draw but I don't know the costs in doing so. Where are all the £15m estimates coming from? Can I get a copy of his employment contract?
Hes apparently the 9th highest paid manager in the world, you can work it out from that. You might not agree on the percentages but can you think of any managers that have turned it around after not winning for that long? I can only think of SAF decades ago and even then, Im sure he cannot have been as bad as Hughes has been.
Personally i found it incredible and very very sad that some want us to lose on Saturday, to one of our main relegation rivals, that will DEFINATELY put us in deep poop, so that we MIGHT get rid of our manager. Truly remarkable.........
Like you guys, I love my team and to 'wish' them to lose is one tall order .................. but in saying that, is it fair to say that sometimes in life, we need to take a side ward step in order to move forward! The last thing we need is to win on the weekend and then, continue where we left off ( losing ). All I will say is that we really do need a new manager. The rot is just starting to set in but we can arrest it with a 'quick cleansing of the management, thus moving forward. We have the players ............... we just need the management to activate them.
If you hadn't already noticed, we are in deep poop poop at the moment with no signs of it changing! I agree with you about it being sad but who is to blame for some of us thinking like that.........??? Its a means to an end Staines, do we win and Hughes stays which is a massive gamble! or lose and get a manager who is capable of at least winning a game!
Sorry lads but i'm not doing an 800 mile round trip, spending 2 nights on a coach/ferry just to witness fans wanting us to lose against our main rivals in a relegation scrap.....
...but if we win, then we do have a manager capable of winning a game don't we, so I'm not sure the argument stacks up? And whether he stays or someone new comes in, it's still a 'massive gamble' either way. I'm firmly in the 'none of us know **** about what the financial implications of sacking MH might be to TF' camp. It's odd that some people on here are willing to 'spend' money on a new manager, paying off the contract of the old one plus backroom teams etc. etc. without knowing what it actually (specifics not supposition) entails for the club and the owners. There were already rumblings about Amit and the Mittal's pulling out - and TF is not in their league in terms of wealth - perhaps he is just not in a position to do it? Also, there are historically many examples of managers getting sacked and the team still being relegated (be very interested if anyone has stats on this). Frankly, it's not my cash, but if we lose and villa/sunderland get something, we could potentially be 4 wins away from safety - I'm not sure if I was a manager with a reputation to hang on to I would be terribly interested in taking on such a hopeless looking task. Incidentally, I always though Harry would be more interested in going to Southampton, given his connections and that fact he lives down that way. Perhaps *if* we beat them, and they sack Adkins, we might be treated to an example of how good Harry actually is as a manager without money to spend - which is very likely what any incoming manger would be facing at LR given recent pronouncements from the club. My vote is 3 points, and the start of a run that sees us safely mid table by April. Can't see why anyone would want anything else - I'm happy to leave the details of how that happens to the grown-ups.
I'm not knocking your logic Bob, it makes sense. And maybe if it was against any of the top 5 i would be more inclined to take your side (But still couldn't want us to lose). But this game is against Southampton, who should be one of the prime candidates to take our place come May as relegation fodder (No offence Saints fans). I just can't see how losing this game above all can do us any good at all....even if it means getting rid of 'The Big Bad Wolf'
