If Wiggins is wearing yellow this time on Saturday he should give 2/3 of his winnings to Froome, because without him he wouldn't have stood a chance.
Trouble is they make it so hard that more than 50% of recent races have been decided by drugs. Just look at Armstrong. Then theres the medical freak that was Indurain who had lungs 50% bigger than normal. I really dont think theres been a level playing field for decades.
Indurain was exceptional, winning time-trials by 3 minutes or more. One rider described trying to match his pace as 'like following a motorbike'...
No flyer indurain was just a superb sportsman, his background and being brought up at altitude just made him better in the mountains. One of my great heroes alongside hinault I agree the pressure has driven many to doping but despite the schleck incident yesterday I think the really bad years of drug abuse are behind us Well I hope so
For all your up to the minute doping gossip: http://forum.cyclingnews.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20 Terrible TDF this year, reminds me of the that Giro d'Italia set up for a Francesco Moser win. Far too many Kms of Time Trials and far too few uphill finishes. Give me the Giro or Vuelta anyday. As for doping, yes he certainly is imo. As for Froome that's really taking the piss.
