Just paid my £10 for the next league game, looking forward to seeing an improvement on the Hull game, yes, cameras will be allowed for this game @alwaysright & @grumpygit trying to wind me up! I will be expecting to come away with a point, as nil points after two games is not a prospect I wish to be contemplating. please log in to view this image
Excellent result today, we held on for the three points. Going forward was our strength, defensively they made me very nervous, as Pegleg pointed out to me during the game, a young defence. I'll wait for MOM thread before giving my top three.
I thought the defense were better, not good but better. Going forward we looked a lot more threatening than recent matches. Hopefully we will continue to improve over the next couple of weeks.
I actually enjoyed watching them today mate. My nerves were in tatters at the time, but it was good to watch. I think Evans has performed miracles really and it's good him and Scally from a supporter perspective seem to be getting on ok. Obviously what it's like behind closed doors, could be another matter haha. I really doubted Evans coming here, but he's done a grand job.
Maybe not, but early in the game he put in an important stop, that looked liked a dead cert goal. You was probably a sleep at the time.
I might have been asleep for the Hull game ! I too thought we played much better this week (( it couldn't have got a lot worse .)) Graham looked sharp, and Robertson was more than useful - as was Tucker..... .... I wonder if we have met Wigan at the same 'time' as we did Bolton last year - when the 5-0 win wasn't a startling result ( hadn't they lost their previous 3 or 4 games by the same result ? ) The goals we conceded today were sloppy and avoidable -- but -- at 3-2, I thought we did a fairly good job to see out the game - and, on balance of play, just about deserved to win. All round - a decent effort........ I would like to see Oliver break sweat occasionally ( a couple of balls with which, he seemed not to bother. )
I'm well impressed with Jordan Graham over both league games, he shows great composure and to score two today was the icing on the cake. Unlucky not to get the third from the corner.
These are a young group and the confidence levels definitely seem to be rising. They looked like a team this week, the previous few games it was just eleven players on the same side. Give SE another couple of weeks on the training pitch and who knows.
It's good to see individual quality coming through. I've been trying to think who Graham reminds me of, who can remember Danny Westwood. A name I just plucked from the air, while thinking, but I know we haven't seen anyone like Jordan for a long time. Maybe I shouldn't think too often.
