Really - the Sky replay I saw which drew a line from the ref to the foul and there was a player right smack bang in the middle of the line Johnny - It was an awful tackle and a definite red card but the referee said he didn;t see it and the replays showed why

Oh and the referee saw this:

That looks just as high as McManaman's and could've been just as bad - but I suppose this was OK?

Really stupid tackle by perch, the difference between the two is Perch went to sweep the ball side footed and mistimed it, McManaman went to stab the ball away with his studs and missed, both should've been punished, one was...

Agreed but at least you agree Perch was stupid - the ref couldn't see the McBananaman "tackle" (Yeah right) on Haidara - although I can guarantee had that been Cattermole or Tiote they'd have been red carded whether the ref could see it or not!! You can;t give what you can;t see unfortunately - I certainly am not arguing FOR McManaman (should be banned for a lot more than any 3 games as well) but I will stick up for the ref on that one as he was unsighted - however, could the linesman not see it? should the ref have taken the advice of the linesman? The linesman should've been flagging and should've radio'd the attention of the ref - if he doesn;t see it, even from across the park, he shouldn't be running the line

This is true, but what the ref and linesman DID see was McManaman imediately charge towards Mbiwa and deliberately handball it stop him getting past - deliberate handball or to quote the FA rule book - when a player ‘handles the ball to prevent an opponent gaining possession or developing an attack.’ Should result in a yellow card, which wasn't given...

The ref had a shocker!
