Glad it was a South London boy that got the winner as well, close to my manor.

I've slammed Wigan in the past, often claimed I'd like them to go down but after today I've seen them in a new light. I am glad Martinez (a manager I rank amongst the top 3) has finally been rewarded for his efforts. Had United gone for him instead of Moyes I'd genuinely be fearful of what they can produce.

Anyway back to Wigan. They were the better team throughout and played positive attacking football. I would have been happy whoever won as both are respectable clubs but I think everyone likes an underdog.

Irrespective of whether they stay up or not Martinez can leave Wigan with his head held high, he deserves a shot a bigger club. If Wigan can take that into Tuesday they will be able to get something at the Emirates.

Thrilled for them, hopefully WBA, Soton and QPR win tomorrow to take us to a last day regardless

well done to Wigan, off topic but DL you don't think Moyes was the right choice really?

Would like to hear DLs' reply Dave, but here's my 2 bobs worth.
Moyes seems a strange choice to me. He's not a bad manager that's for sure, but he's very dour and not always popular with his players. He might have many attributes not seen by us mugs, and no doubt the people at your Club who made the decision are no dopes.
I just feel a tad underwhelmed, it all seems too low key for such a big job.
Now that might be because at CFC we always have to have the biggest, latest, glitziest and most controversial. By contrast Moyes feels like the Cleaner has taken over. Maybe he will take us all to the cleaners !!! In any event, best of luck, look forward to more great battles between us, and from a totally biased viewpoint, it will be nice not to have the whinging, bad sport, "everyone else is to blame" Fergie around to lower the tone and spoil a good day out.

To be fair to Saffa, he admitted that we owned them every match this season
