A good battle from the Horns, but we did not take the chances that came our way.

Sounds like we gave it a good go though against a side in form so I'll try to take the positives

Well that has to be the end of the season.

Just as well I did not make that HUGE bet that tempted me so much at the start.

I hope they give Bep another crack at it next time round.

"The performance between our home and away displays are not great. We are just short on players up front to give us an additional cutting edge."

Well, Diakite is now under no allusions about where he should be playing his next game, absolutely slaughtered by the travelling hornets. A bit embarrassing really and the Wigan supporters cottoned onto it and were clearly enjoying it. I definitely don't condone it and it's probably ruined his confidence. Well done to Batto today, he ran his socks off and gave everything.........perhaps Faraoni could learn a bit from him!

Probably didn't help that he got booked so soon after coming on and people probably feel he is another loan player we don't need.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why he was booked. The ref seemed to indicate that he looked for the opposition player and then stuck his elbow out into the player. But if thats the case its a straight red for violent conduct. It looked to me like an incident in the first half where a Wigan player stopped in his tracks and McGugan stupidly ran into the back of him and the Wigan player fell flat on his face. However, when the roles were reversed Diakite stood up and the Wigan player bounced off him and conned the ref.

Listening to the commentary Dan it did sound that Diakite might have got a red card. They were holding their breathe to see what colour the ref was going to fish out of his pocket.

Watching it on WizWig, I have to say that I had no idea why the ref blew his whistle at all - innocuous tackle is the term that sprang to my mind. I suppose that a slow-motion replay will be available soon to prove me wrong...

When I saw the ref's motions I did take a deep breath and expected to shout some expletives at the twerp.

    Innocuous is one word yeah.

No doubt his reputation hardly helped...as I say refs (and other officials) must be aware of certain players who foul more than most.

They wouldn't be human if it didn't

To add insult to injury - my mates hired a mini-bus for the trip, but on the way back clipped a post in a service station. Got to stump up for the insurance excess - £500! Not happy bunnies on the way home!
