Immediate transfer to cover one of the rl teams. Long as he uses never took a backward step he’s nailed on.
It's down to what makes a person comfortable. For me, it's about realism. I've never bought into bias, which has gotten me into trouble a few times at City. On one memorable occasion, when Gaston was red carded against Spurs, the bloke in front of me was furious, he screamed "**** off, that was never a red card" and I quickly said "he stamped on him, it was definitely a red card". He then said "whose side are you on then?", as if pointing out reality somehow meant I was also a Spurs fan just because the reality of the situation meant it put our team at a disadvantage. I spent a lot of time in America when I was younger and I think that's what put me off going all hardcore on a team, because their idea of being a fan is almost akin to worship. They lack the intensity of a derby, but they have this fervour for supporting their own team which gives them horrendous tunnel vision, to the point where it blots out most of reality. Their bias is ludicrous.
Anytime City score 5 is brilliant for me. I couldn't give a jacks diddly doo da in thinking about how the other team played.
If youve been on here a few years. Don’t forget how our players should leave and not play for us and nobody would ever want to come here etc etc. Oh and we only got to our first fa cup final because of an easy run. Brucey is too negative and we just want some goals. We need to sack brucey to take us where we need to be
tl:dr just skimmed and it read like someone justifying a negative bias rather than the open minded thoughts of a happy, balanced individual. Just my analysis though.
Yes, and that was the point I was making, basically, now we don't have room for another dip, so we have to keep getting good results for the majority of the remaining games.
Agree. I think we would need to win 6/7 games in a row to be looking an automatic promotion side . Its possible but not probable .
Irrational bias is a bad thing in a teacher. Perspective is required in all things in my opinion but each to their own.
It depends on who you are as a person. I have nothing against people who see everything in black and amber tinted glasses, if that's how they want to support the team, they can choose to do so. My way of supporting City, which is apparently different to a lot of people, is to be unbiased and look at it from a critical point of view. it doesn't stop me enjoying a run to a cup final or a promotion or anything like that. Some people give slack to a team because that team is theirs. I don't. I don't expect anybody else to follow my way, why would I? It's mine.
It's not just the irrational bias, it's often the bipolar nature in assuming people fall in to one extreme or the other, when the reality is usually far more complex than that, no matter what the topic. Missing that, negates any analysis as it simply becomes lazy, bigoted labelling. It's usually compunder by such types making assumptions about other people's views and then arguing against their own fantasy version, rather than anything based in reality.
Because of social media. If you kept reading and hearing from people who have read that you are a **** teacher or what ever you do for a living, day after day, are you saying it would just sail over your head ? Sam Allardyce said years ago the social media effects everyone at a club, not just the players but staff and the players wives/families etc, it's like a cancer and he banned it completely, but it stills seeps through.
Every time Steven posts he writes as if he's sat in his drawing room, puffing on a cigar and dictating to his manservant "Ah yes. Such a comment is remindful of an occasion on which I quarrelled with a fellow Tiger at White Hart Lane. As I recall..."
