It's fair to say Wigan were poor,I think most of us realise that.We didn't turn a corner last-night or revert back to being Automatic League champion's in 90 minutes of Football.

What we did was scored 5 goals and possibly could've doubled that toll,we also picked up a vital 3 points and put a smile back on the players faces!!We got what we deserved last-night,so did Wigan and if that fairly 'easy' win kickstarts a mini run of form then who really cares about the sub standard opposition?

In theory I'd agree with you – but after last night I'm not so sure! What an absolute clusterfuck they were.

    Ditto.
Those 5 goals could be worth an extra point at the end of the season too.
We made them them look crap by putting pressure on them when they had the ball.
Pressure created mistakes and we capitalised.
Get Whyte back and it's autos for me.

Barry Cooper really went out on a limb with the HDM's player ratings:

    7 for Ingram
    10 for Wilks
    8 for every other starter
    7 for every sub

Only cause we put them to bed.
Burton and MK Dons weren't that much better but they gained confidence by us letting them stroll around.

I think that's harsh on MK Dons.

Pretty fair although for me the subs did little to merit 7s.

Yes, possibly you're right but if we had got in their faces I think it would have been a similar score.
It's all irrelevant anyway ain't it.
I nearly did not subscribe last night.
    So glad I did.

I don't need to think I know more, I have eyeballs, I can watch the game and see for myself. I don't hold what I see to your standards, why would I? We were decent at the start of the season, yep. But using your own logic, we didn't play anybody of any note until a bit later on.

And does it hell as like destablise the young players. That's complete and utter ****. Otherwise no player young or old would be able to sit and watch match of the day or Sky ever.

See that right there, that's thinking you know more than you do, thinking that comments from non-footballers on an internet can threaten the ability/performance of actual footballers. I'm not a professional footballer, so why would they take my comments to heart?

Having Wigan to play on the penultimate Saturday of the season is handy - they’ll be long gone by then.

There seems to be a lot of sympathy for other Clubs and their plight on here? A lot of comments on how ****e Wigan are? I'm confused!!!

Maybe the EFL should be contacted, last nights result should be declared void, because we were better than them and we could replay it in a force 9 gale,on a farmer's field in the lake district and allow Wigan 13 players???

What sympathy? Wigan are an extremely poor side. That's a good thing.

    I love this.

    For some on here it's
Bollock City for being **** when we lose and never praise when we destroy a team.
I never understand what pleasure they get from watching City.
    They'll never be satisfied.

City were great last night and it was lovely to see.

    It ain't easy speakin' out
Some people take it to heart
And if you ain't standin' on top of the rock
They'll try and tear you apart
Me, I took four the hard way
    I overcame the fear
And it got me in a lot of trouble
But it also got me here

    It really wasn't!
A welcomed win, but far from a brilliant performance.
The 4-0 against Portsmouth was more like a brilliant performance.
Wilks scored out of nowhere and the game changed. They fell apart. Wigan were then mostly very ****. They were that **** from then on that we could easily have avenged the 8-0 if we'd really been on it (and if Wilks hadn't been so greedy - yep ,there, I said it).
But fair play, they put 5 away without reply.
Let's see what Saturday brings. No matter others playing it down, we really could do with beating Donny if we want automatic promotion.
