We could easily have been the target of this kind of scam, a saving grace being the high profile of the club.

They’ve likely thought that nobody would be shocked by ‘little Wigan’, but the fact that they did it all so quickly was an instant alarm bell.

They haven’t even tried to cover it up. If the EFL supposedly insist on there being a £10million contingency for a takeover, there should be grounds for them to then claim that money and keep the club out of administration.

Again, the EFL won’t do this, no doubt that the ‘proof of funds’ money was pinged back out of the club before the ink dried.
No balls at all have they. It’ll be some trotted out “our fit and proper test is fully complicit and ensures blah blah!” When it blatantly doesn’t!!

All the top dogs at the EFL should be booted out, the same thing seems to happen again and again so lessons aren’t being learned. Fit and proper test just seems to be a toss of a coin. Pretty sure I’d have been bulleted if I was that **** at my job.

That and the farce of ending this season, they might as well have said at the start of the crisis “yeah we know exactly what to do, run the clock down until playing the remaining games isn’t a viable option anymore”.

They are a completely incompetent organisation.
