Just got back from the Wigan game and have to say the best team won on the night. We were never at the races and I can only remember their keeper making one save ( from Welbeck ) in the last ten minutes. If we continue to play like that then we can kiss the league goodbye. Too many of our players didn't turn up tonight and that is unacceptable. Think it's the first match the "the Ginger Prince" hasn't taken part in since his comeback and he was sorely missed. Think I'm right in saying that we haven't won a league game this season, where the opposition have scored first ? Anyway, anything less than 4 or 5 nil win to us on Sunday will also be unacceptable as I'm sure City will beat Norwich the day before and we need to get our goal difference up to scratch again.
All we should be worrying about is just a win never mind the goal difference..If we maintain that 5 points gap, the GD won't matter. If we do not win then the GD will get worse ...in City's favour. No point worrying about it...
Definitely the Ginger Prince was missed....and it ascertains my opinion that he is way better in that position than Giggsy, who should play in a more advanced role. Anyway, the positive I found with this loss was that it further showed Fergie that he cannot disregard our need for a top midfield man.
I was watching the game last night and i noticed some of our players were relaxing like they didn't bother turning up for last night's game, hopefully this will give them a kick up the backside because they were awful.
Best game of football Wigan Athletic have ever played. Massive well done to them as lets be honest, until last night, Wigan had no record against us. United were gutless and had nothing to offer Wigan but that shouldnt take anything away from the fact that Wigan were far better. First to every ball and winners of every 50/50.
