Ability to attract top players???? What has happened to the Arsenal that produced such sublime players like Rocastle, Michael Thomas and Paul Davis and all from London. I do not believe that any midfield player in the current Arsenal squad bar Ozil comes anywhere near them for talent and footballing intelligence!!
Wilshere, Ramsey, Rosicky, Arteta. All good players mate. But we've been without a couple of players in key areas for a while now. Namely a solid DM and a CF. These are the top quality players that we need to try and get this summer.

You won League titles with Rocastle and Thomas. Can't recall if Paul Davis was around in '89 and '91 but you look a long way off from being winners at the moment. I have no doubt that the players you have mentioned are good but Rosicky and Arteta best days are behind them whilst it is unfortunate that Ramsey has suffered injury wise. While Wilshere may be good, is he as good as the Rocastle, Thomas or Paul Davis were? These three players of yours from the past were just sublime.
Paul Davis was definitely around in the 1988/89 season.I'm sure that was the season of his ban for breaking Glenn Cockerel's <sic> jaw Wilshere will definitely be better than Thomas,David Rocastle was an exceptional talent it's just dad his career was eventually blighted by injury.
