In a letter to Mr Smith, Gwent Police said: "Inquiries were made to identify addresses for the next of kin to give the sad news of Karla's death but it was not discovered until 11.30pm.
So people who knew her knew she was dead but couldn't have told the police where the mother stayed? Or didn't it occur to the police when they were questioning those around to ask? 3 hours to find a nearby house? quite frankly is shocking.
I cannot comment on whether three hours was too long a time because I don't know the full circumstances of the case. As I said, the Police officers cannot simply start knocking on doors and asking if anyone knew whose the dead body was. Firstly, the police have to secure the scene of death, then a Medical Doctor has to pronounce death, it may have taken three hours to get a doctor for all we know. The simple fact is the Police are not to blame here, she's looking to apportion blame in her grief, a perfectly natural reaction, but in this case her issue seems to be that the FaceBook poster (who she obviously knows the identity of by now) told her before the Police.
Gwent Police said: "It is a sad indictment of today's society that an unknown individual made the decision to broadcast such tragic news without consideration for the family."
So either the police leaked it on facebook or someone who knew she was dead (which would point to said person being at the scene of the death) broadcasted it on facebook. So what you're saying is the Police either acted like complete simpletons and never questioned anyone at the scene or they were completely negligent and too thick to find out an address.
No what I said "twice" was that there is a strict procedure which has to be followed by the police when they come accross what appears to be a deceased person. You can read it in full here: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=police procedure in sudden death in wales&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CCAQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.south-wales.police.uk%2FMedia%2Fviewfile.ashx%3FFilePath%3D606_20101019153033_e_%40%40_SuddenUnexplainedDeathpolicyE1.pdf%26filetype%3D4&ei=E3hgUPqDJfS20QWc14GABA&usg=AFQjCNGoJYfUKu-nNBZrPwR0qtemelroFg&cad=rja If the Police questioned people who knew her at the scene then I suspect that they probably knew her mother and where she lived, instead of telling the mother they (persons unknown) leaked the news by way of a FB post. I doubt very much that some Copper was straight onto his mobile to find her FB page and post the news.
So it took them 3 hours to get round to a nearby house? unacceptable, whats that excuse the emergency services make? every second counts? aye right. **** you and your bent bum buddies. Queerhawk.
