I'm not crying about it, I am actually bemused and frustrated that there are actually people like this in the world but you learn something new everyday!!

Perhaps my response to arguments isn't the same as most people's on here aka to go on a foul mouthed rant saying everythings sh*t, it's to have a reasoned argument and then ask people to back up what they say with evidence!!

Tell me what I've said in the past that has been me talking sh*t??

I don't have to be right, I would quite happily admit to being wrong which there are thing I have been wrong about as you say everyone is!!

Funny Spanish your laughing about being wrong is very similar to a foul mouthed rant, perhaps that's just me talking sh*t though???

" As for Livermore and Townsend, I think they are both very good footballers and would quite happily have them back in our team "

Townsend I'd have back in the squad, but what is going on with him? LOADS of loans, and fallen out at Spurs. His loan with us was cut short too, something not quite right there.

Livermore= Oh dear. When I saw Spurs were playing him v Norwich recently, that persuaded me to bet on Norwich. Shocking player more interested in money and his hair, looking good etc. Not a fan at all !

Spanish I'm going to ignore that comment, I could quite happily argue with you all day but this is not what these boards are all about!!

Westlake I think they are both very talented players but perhaps both need a reality check. I mean Townsend was probably the best out and out winger I have seen at the club but the amount of loan spells he has had cancelled, there must be something in that.

I think Livermore blows hot and cold, he never really got chance to show us what he could do when he was here, he looked to have a good eye for a pass though and a decent positional sense (something I think is underrated in any player), I've heard he's played a few games for tottenham this season, i remember one particular game they said he was dominating the midfield.

Whilst I know your trying to goad me into a response spanish, which is a little sad you have got what you wished for.

I have seen enough to think he is a very very able winger. I recall last season he was getting rave reviews when he was in the tottenham team and he was certainly very good for us last season when he actually played, he was our most dangerous player but i geuss you never saw any of these games?

Though there's no denying there is something wrong with him. I mean the talent he's got yet, he's been on loan at so many clubs and has had many loans cancelled. Its the same with Gio!!

SIXTY-SEVEN Players in just over 3 years!

The best loanee we have had by miles is Gio and we only had him for about 3 months! Loanees do nothing but erode the team spirit of the players that are contracted to the club. If they don't bring anything worthwhile as in being far better than we already have but still get picked that's what causes instability. We have got to get away from this doomed short-termism before we can even hope to start building the foundations that are necessary. I'm afraid that Jewell has been the major culprit (take Stockdale on a 24 hour recall for instance). We need at least 6 players again this summer to come in and form the backbone of the team and that's just for starters! Our bench strength is woeful and if Jewell carries on with his policy of ignoring our homegrown talent then he will need even more players to fill the void. This way of thinking is totally unsustainable, I just wish the powers that be would stop bullshitting us and simply say that we need to be patient as we have a 3 year plan in place. If us fans were told this I am sure that there would be a lot less ill feeling between us supporters because none of us really know what the hell is going on from one day to the next! <ok>

Good post JWM. I assume you've taken that from Sollys very good blog on TWTD?? Good debate going on on there actually!!

I agree with you that certainly loan signings aren't the way forward and bringing through youth is but at the same time the situation we are in, is that we don't have a very good/big squad and by the looks of it there aren't as many youth players coming through atm who can make the grade, I can understand too an extent why we have had alot of loans this season, its down to 4 years of poor management and short sightedness!! How to fix this, is to make sure we bring in as many permanent signings as we can and invest in our academy!!

Why can't Clegg or Evans actually come out and tell us what the plan is then? I'm fed up to the back teeth of all the hype for example Operation Premiership and the short term dash for promotion. We all know that we have thrown away 4 years already when we could have been seriously building something here with the help of Evans' money. If the plan is promotion within 3 years then ****ing say so rather than feeding us all the usual bull! <ok> Us fans are quite a supportive bunch when we are told the truth!

I agree. They've mucked up the past 3 years!! I think giving Jim all that money was slightly niave but in a way understandable, in hindsight we needed to evolve not drastically change the situation how Reading have done but that situation could easily have been fixed but appointing Keane was just stupid, now we find ourselves in a situation where we've got a pretty poor squad yet had alot of money spent on it and I think they are too stubborn to admit it's going to take time to get back where we want to be after the mess they've landed us in.

To be honest PTC you might have the answers to everything. Most of the time I don't have the attention span to read your long posts and I skip them.

To sum this thread up in a few lines, loans are generally ****, we need our own players of we're ever going anywhere.

Very good point, Lancs, that is something I accept!! I release my frustrations not by having a foul mouthed rant but by writing essays!!

It frustrates me to look at the players we've signed since ME arrived, take our strikers for example. Walters = 50k
Fast forward a few years and we've signed Pablo, Lisbie, Stead, Priskin, Scotland and Chopra and the only real progression is how much we pay for them and pay them every week. All we do is buy players of a similar (chops and Scotland possibly better) standard but now for more money and expect them to be better, we have had possibly the worst transfer success/record in the clubs history in the last 3 or 4 years and that extends to loans too

Just to actually comment on 'young Connor Wickham' I'd have no problem with him coming back, he's had a season training with a Prem team so should be a bit wiser as well as the fact he knows his way round and actually likes the club makes him different to 'any other' loanee. I agree that we should avoid loans but the sheer volume of players we need in means we'd have to be spending a lot to get quality in and I think if we don't get him some other championship club will and then we would be swearing about how well he's doing for someone else. Don't get me wrong signing someone like Gary Madine on a permanent but honestly I'd rather us put what money we towards a couple of decent defenders
