If we have no chance at all of sining Bendtner, then maybe not drop him but sub him after 60-70 minutes and give Wickham and Ji a chance, but while Bendtner is playing well, why drop him, yes, he isnt ours, but he could be, and if he gets 5-6 goals in the next 7 games i am pretty sure most will change their minds from the 1st 4-5 months of the season. Remember Wickham and Ji have played, have had a chance, but havnt looked up to it at all. and isnt Noble on loan at Hartlepool till the end of the season?
Would rather see Noble back next season and Ji on loan, we know Noble can finish, Ji can't hit a cows arse with a banjo. Needs a season in the Championship to get some games in England under his belt.
Strongest 11 always. It's much easier to attract a player to a club finishing 7th or 8th than one finishing 14th or 15th. Get the points on board and see what happens
If Kilgallon is anything to go by as a backup defender then why not play around with attack and midfield options. Defensively we are OK but attack combinations are woth a look for future.
I think Wickham will come good, should have been loaned back to Ipswich for this season really, just too early for the prem. I hope im very wrong but i have never seen anything from Noble to suggest he will make it as a top player, i just dont think he has that little extra needed for premiership football, championship or league one however could be perfect for him, like Chopra or something of that kind. Again hope im wrong.
Should always play your best 11 and can't see MON doing anything less, as for Wickham I can see him being loaned out for a whole season to see how he will develop.if we went with the "play them or flog them " approach like Cammachio suggests we would have a very ,very small squad.
Not really mate, they are either good enough or they are not..........and it seems at the moment they are not... We are playing a loan player ahead of them, which seems to suggest they are not good enough.. Also i don't buy into this "they are for the future lark"... I'm guessing they are not the future for SAFC, and certainly not the next level players, which we need to progress.
That's a bit rough comm - don't see why they should get a beating just because they're not in the side
The point I was making was , if you sold the players who are not playing on a regular basis we would have a very small squad because almost half your squad isn't involved every week. You say you are guessing they are not the future for safc, and you may be right threre will always be an element of guess work when you buy a young teenager , but when they are this young you have time on your hands, we should have loaned him out for the whole season and let him develop at his own pace, but due to the lack of attacking options we had at the beginning of the season we had no choice but to keep him. No way am I convinced this boy will come good ,far from it but what I am saying is the jury is still out on this kid and at present he is worth perservering with, I am not going to mention the serious amount of money we have invested in him because that is a completely different argument. As for playing a loan player in front of one of your own, you play your strongest and best 11 and if a loan player makes you a stronger team then you play him.
I hear what you are saying mate..but there must be a reason Wickham isn't even making the bench.. I know he is only young and has many a year to prove himself...... Even though Ji was just a PR stunt, i actually thought he had a chance to make the break-through..and if i'm honest i think he may still make it.. But MoN hopefully will bring in a better grade of forward in the summer, and these boys will be even further down the pecking order..and he has hinted at loan deals for them.
