Why ?

Sorry, brb - I should have made it clear that it was rhetorical question........
I thought any goal scored against my team is always ' unsporting' !

I thought it was a valid yellow card. He was taunting the opposition after craftily gaining the ball. Nowt wrong in taking the advantage offered him on a plate, but he was disrespectful and unsportsman like in completing the required action of scoring a goal, in the manner that he did ie walking it in.

Well - I can't help being ''over analytical '' -- I understand that it was disrespectful to the conceding team -- and therefore it was technically correct for the referee to issue a yellow card --- but - just how many more incidents which are much more-deserving of referee action goes unpunished ?

There are lots of incidents more-deserving BUT the fans got what the fans wanted, that I warned you all against, that technology that resolves all problems, goes by the name of VAR. <laugh>

Actually - if you look at my latest post in the VAR thread, you'll see that I haven't got a problem with VAR ( of which, there is nothing wrong ), but - it's the rules and interpretation of them this is ruining the game.

brb - that made me laugh.
I think grumpygit has a description for the referee ! .... Surely the referee should have also booked the player who kicked the 'extra' ball upfield ?

.......Two balls - it would certainly make for an interesting game -- perhaps they could be of different colour - and - the 'value' of scoring with them also different ( a black ball worth 2 goals, and a whiter ball worth one goal )) ---- it'd certainly 'bugger-up' VAR decision making.

VAR has made another mistake, It missed the handball, the guy who took the corner then picked up the ball and ran a good 10 paces onto the pitch whilst holding the ball.
A clear penalty if ever I saw one. :emoticon-0130-devil
