It's not irrelevant at all, Real Madrid's history is part of the draw of the club. It's ridiculous to disregard the history of a club as a major factor of wanting to play for the club. Granted, it's not the most important aspect, but it's a subconscious influence.
The premier league is poor these days, the quality is weak after the top 6 teams and getting weaker year by year. The spanish league has two teams who go for the title every year but so does the premier league, sometimes we only have one here! It's no wonder we barely have any world class players here at the moment. I hope Bale stays just so there's another top player in the league but i can't see him staying. More money, champions league and a nice sunny climate will convince him to leave.
Can somebody just clue me up here. We are reading in Oz that Real Madrid have offered 100 million quid for Bale. The player used to get 10% of this (10 million) but I am not sure how much now. His agent would also be in for his 'greedy little pinkies' share but does this come out of Real Madrid's transfer money or Bale's? Bale would surely take up residence in Spain prior to the money being transferred to his account so that he would retain the lions share of his fee before the British Tax office get their 'greedy little pinkies' on it. Either way, Bale would surely be set up for life from this transfer, so it would surely be a good move for him.
The best club for him in this country would be Man Utd, but they can't get anywhere near Real Madrid with wages or transfer fee.
Talksport are about to announce something they've got from Spain, it sounds like there's a bit incoming. Edit: Announcement now made, they believe Real Madrid are bidding in excess of £90m. Spurs will take it, it's too big to reject.
