About as reasonable an answer as I expect to read.

He's doing the best he can with a tough situation. Yes, he likely knew it'd be an uphill battle to have the money spent that he'd like, but absolutely any manager would, so does that mean nobody should take the job without being labelled a 'muppet' or 'puppet'? Unless you want Ashley or Derek themselves pacing the touchline, anybody who takes the manager job right now is going to be in a difficult position.

All in all, I've been happy with the results since his hiring, would I prefer better? Sure. But given the sales, and injuries, and suspensions, couldn't really expect much better. Sure he's made some mistakes, but every manager does. I DEFINITELY don't believe he's in on some kind of conspiracy to run the club into the ground, because as others have eluded to, unlike his bosses, he is a football man, and his success (or lack of here) will follow him the rest of his career.

It seems he didn't love it as much as he expected to

Also, as far as the "puppet" tag goes, he has just come as close to saying that we didn't sign a striker because the board couldn't get its act together in 7 months, and/or because they wouldn't spend real money, as he could while not facing immediate dismissal. He also said that Barton had got a contract at QPR he deserved due to his actions on and off the pitch in the last 2 years.

Not things that the board will be in a hurry to hear

He's doing the best he can, it must be a ****ing nightmare working for Ashley. First and foremost he's a coach and manager, second as far as transfers are concerned, he passes on targets and the board are then responsible for getting them in. It's not like he was the one accepting bids for Enrique/Carroll, nor was it him who let Barton go on a free.

Plus Pardew did want to keep Barton, and did spend a lot of time trying to rectify the situation.

I am pleased with how Pardew's performed on the pitch.
Maybe if he keeps it up he will be able to convince Ashley to sign ALL his transfer targets...

No one gets all their transfer targets.

It was more referring to the signing of a load of midfielders and no striker, along with letting Barton go.
I know, I'm not THAT naive.

Pardew has done a cracking job for you. I was skeptical when he was brought in, but the results speak for themselves. Plus he has to cope with your moronic owner, so he gets even more credit from me for that.

Even though your not a Newcastle fan, I agree with this more than what anyone else has said. Always good to see other clubs fans agreeing with my point of view on Newcastle United.

    Right, honest view.

Having seen what he has said, I am starting to believe him(fear I am just falling into a trap though). I don't think his comments would go down well with the board if they were being said behind their backs. I reckon Pardew would accept being sacked at this present time(decent pay off and hasn't done too bad). There is part of me that thinks he is allowed to say these things, as no one can contact the board anyway, I am sure they can take another hit.

I will wait and see. Results are what matters to be fair, I think I am just pissed off with the whole regime, and haven't really taken to Pardew after Hughton getting sacked. Monday night is such an important game. I would be happy with a point I think, as long as we get something.
