We were in the top half of the Premier League for most of our first season, we were even joint top of the league after a dozen or so games, though we were completely ****e in the second season. The FFP rules come in next season and the teams that go up this season will have a massive advantage over the teams that don't, getting the odd tonking is a price well worth paying.
We have a secret weapon at Hull City. Assem Allam. Our owner is so determined too see Hull City go up And stay up , IF we do go up we wont come straight back down. .Assem Allam has a plan .
Of all the theories I've heard as to why our from has dropped considerably, this has got to be the most ridiculous. What about Reading last year? Southampton? Cardiff this season? They don't just give up because they don't think they'll be good enough at the level above. I'm sure they would want to test themselves at the highest level. And don't give me this "but these days, all professionals are all mercenaries". That doesn't even make sense, as I'm sure the majority will have some sort of promotion wage increase bonus. If "all they think about is the money", then promotion for them would be best.
No, as long as they get some money for it, they'll be fine. Whereas, with the Allams, they took over our club to do something for the community, after Assem living in Hull all his life and Ehab being from Hull!
This is a possibility... but makes me wander why you'd join a club that desires promotion. My view is it that it's simpler than that... just a lack of form/confidence. Was triggered initially by a couple of defeats, starting with the huddersfield defeat in the cup. Anyone on here that's played(or still playing football) I think can understand when you low on confidence you over think about what you doing and end up taking too much time with a pass, shot, tackle etc.. Times that by 9 or 10 players and that's seriously over thinking as a team and means the team are not playing off instincts. An examples spring to mind is Nugents goal agains Boro... that was purely instinctive, without confidence and over thinking he'd probably have cut back on to his left and the opportunity goes. 1 win in 11 games is a long time to get out of the rut (and lets not forget the win was against a very poor Blackburn team at home). It's the same players as put the winning run together and we played some lovely stuff, alot was instictive. Some good performances back to back, not neccesary wins, should (hopefully) bring the instinctive play back to the players.
If we can beat Birmingham on Friday night (and yes that is a very BIG if.....) to get that monkey of our backs of not winning in so many games, then we will be back in 5th spot, with Florist away at Cardiff / Brighton away at Boro on Saturday. Id be surprised if both of those won away, so to be back in the play offs with 4 games to go would be a huge lift and think could see us regain that confidence at just the perfect time. Like I said...a BIG if......but very possible!
Yes yes yes, pleeeeeeeese give me the soppy bollocks ! Iv'e never won anything before. Vote Kempton guys, you won't regret it
