How many times do you get to watch Barcelona?!! Well, seeing as they feature regularly on several different channels, and every single game of theirs is available online, I'd say pretty much all of them, should you wish, of course.

You're right about the 90 minutes thing though, you don't have to watch a player play to get an impression of how good he might be. However to describe someone as exceptional without actually seeing them in the flesh is a bit much, surely? And the reason I am excited at the prospect of Rodriguez is that, as I already mentioned, he scores with his left, his right, his head, from outside the box, makes darting runs, takes on players, plays in several different positions, and is only 22 years old, and thus still has time to develop, which makes me very confident he will cut it in the Prem, despite having only seen him play two times. Hooper, personally, does not excite me in the same way, because he is simply a poacher, of which we already have a good one. My negative opinion, as you call it, is also explained in my first post; it's because he has only scored in the SPL and the Championship, and is a fairly one-dimensional player, the likes of whom, would get pocketed by any half-decent prem defence.

Should you wish, of course - I was asking of you personally. Without wishing to drag this into a "I'm right because I say so" "No, I'm right because I say so" row which seems to be where it's headed, I'll instead pose a different question: Obviously, the more you see a player, the more chance to gather an opinion of him you have. So surely the man in the best place to give his opinion is the one who watched him play every single game at Scunthorpe and the man who watched him play every single day in training? The same man who is now our manager? If Nigel decides to go after Hooper then I think it's fair to trust his judgement because literally no fans will know more about Gary than Nige does.

Of course. But it has to be said that the Prem is unknown territory even for our Nige. And for all our players, and for most of our realistic potential signings. It could be that someone like Guly or Tadanari turns out to be our best player, while Lambert or Lallana could go the other way. Just look at what happened with Adel Taarabt at QPR. Couldn't hack it with the big boys. Makes it all the more exciting in a way. Could be even Nigel will find himself out of his depth (can't believe I just said that!). Anyway, here's hoping I'm wrong and that everyone can handle it as well as whoever we bring in.
