Why where the saints fans singing songs?? It was a friendly and just seemed rubbish. Ok it's fine to stand up and clap when we score or do something good but to start singing songs about Pompey whats the point.

Secondly I thought that Bart did very well tonight. Ok he made a mistake but then everyone does. A couple if min after frazer miss controlled a pass that went out of play. Similar mistake but obviously Barts cost a goal. But he will only improve with time.

I don't mind fans singing at friendly matches....

....but at times tonight there was a group in the Northam who seemed intent on shouting and singing non-stpoo swearing, and then moaning at the other fans around them for not joining in with them, which seemed a bit much.

Also the people banging on the backboards wre never in time with the people singing and would drown out any chant that everyone was joining in with by banging at an increasingly fast rate meaning no-one could sing along any more.

Maybe as fans we need pre-season warm ups for singing, just like the team do for playing!

Guys - this thread has put a smile on my face this morning - of all the things to be discussing was whether the rythum section of the Northam could keep a steady beat and were the lyrics up to the occassion! Anybody would think you had been to a gig! Classic. :)

Made me laugh that 5 minutes before half time, a group of lads in the Northam all trudged down to the concourse. That happens all the time in league games and I presume these lads thought it was "the done thing" and made them look a bit hard like.

Trouble was, these lads were all 13 to 15 by the looks of them. So were they going down to the concourse for a swift pint of pepsi?!

This is a bizarre post!

Please explain what the issue with singing was?????

Fair play to thos that turned up last night and contributed to a decent friendly game! De Ridder was outstanding when he came on and Bart made 1 mistake - very costly - but hey ho he moves on as do i!!!

COYRs!!!!

Evolution of saints - "the singing was pointless" can't beleive you wrote that! Singing at a footie match - whatever next? Football is not the opera. if you want a sterile atmosphere, with occasional clapping I suggest you go to fallingdownpark ;-)

I can't understand this thread?? How can you complain about the singing?? It was a football match!! If anything there wasn't enough singing from the crowd!

I enjoy the occasional sing-song a a friendly, but the problem was there were a massive group of young lads under 15 that were doing it all game. But i'd rather we sang all match than didnt sing at all.

Why is anyone complaining about singing at the game last night??? So what if it's a friendly? its a Saints game. Get behind the boys

THe singing was pointless, Why bother... The WBA fans just sat there and clapped when something good happened.

Am a bit surprised evolution of saints.......it was a football match. By the sound of it the Northam boy's were enjoying themselves. I also wouldn't mind betting it was a small contingent that did the singing.
I cannot ever remember not singing no matter the match or the opposition. I would hazard a guess that the Northam boys were singing simply because they were glad to be back watching football after a lay off. I know I would have been if I could of made it to the game.
