    FFS....we are top 5

    Teams above us are :

Most successful team in Premier league history
2 clubs with an endless pit of Billionaire money
And a club who loves collecting money from CL and transfers... They are who we are gunning for realistically.

We got to be happy with that for now lads surely?

Don't forget we got a new stadium to be saving for.

I'm not happy, two of the clubs we are now in the shadow of, Chelsea and City, are clubs who used to be in our shadow.

What's to be happy about, now being the third club in London.

I've been supporting Spurs since 1960, only under ENIC have we become London's third club.

Okay then! Just the two of us, lets pool together our disposable billions, and make Spurs a 'Top club' again. It's not that easy, so stop pretending to yourself that it is.

We finished well below Arsenal and Chelsea for five years running just before Enic took over.

I'm not pretending it's easy, that's a mistake by you.

I'm giving my views on ENIC compared to other clubs' owners. Compared to Chelsea and City they fail badly, IMO. Where's the pretence in that, I can easily back it up with stats. Maybe it's you doing the pretending.

Incidentally I don't like the implied dig at Doherty that 'Ginger Pele' tends to carry.

Doherty was a good player for us till horribly injured, and I think Spurs fans sometimes do him a great disservice. I'm not saying you are, but the Ginger Pele tag often has dismissive, sarcastic undertones.

So you're agreeing with Pele's misleading and mistaken post about me. Well in that case I'm disagreeing with you too :)

It would have been much better for us had we we been bougt by someone like RA, who is passionate and committed to his club and has transformed them into a major power in English and European football. Lots of Spurs fans said/say they wouldn't want such an owner and prefer ENIC, to me they are massively wrong, unless it's an objection of some kind of moral grounds about 'buying titles' or what have you.

Many thought that RA would indeed treat Chelsea as a toy and walk away after a few years, how wrong were they, very.

Getting Dembele in is indeed +1 for ENIC.

Sending Defoe out as lone striker in our first two games is a minus point, having Brad in goal for those first two games is another,. Not having Modric or a replacement in the mid is another, still not having bought another striker and a keeper is another ATM.

I agree with the analysis, but other similar takeovers have ended in tears. You can't possibly tell in advance whether an owner like RA is going to give you the Chelsea experience or the Portsmouth/Leeds/Rangers one. I'd rather not take the risk....

Blaming ENIC for not ploughing endless funds into Spurs is ridiculous.
There are maybe 3 clubs in the world that are run as a rich man's hobby, it's just that we're unfortunate enough to be in a league with two of them.

How many other sides would love to be run as sensibly as we are, whilst still putting up a fight in an extremely competitive division?

You can't tell in advance but I thought straightaway when Chelsea sold up to RA and got rid of their debt (effectively) it was a fantastic coup for Chelsea, and as the spending started I said time and again what a great thing had happened to Chelsea, when so many others were saying, 'wouldn't want him at Spurs', 'he'll leave in a few months/years', so so wrong the doubters were.

IF we missed out on RA, it was the chance of a century spurned.

Fair enough Spurlock and I'm saying he's wrong in his post.

The reason we don't have the money is because we have the wrong owners to challenge for the big prizes.

I'm not blaming ENIC, so if your post is aimed at me, then it's your post that is ridiculous.

I just want ENIC to sell up, as they clearly aren't up to the task of getting us winning the big prizes.

Lots of clubs would like to be in our position, but it's not the position I want to see Spurs in.

ENIC are a business, aren’t they? why do people go into business? to make money.

I believe ENIC purchased the club with the aim of turning the club into a success, as if that happens then the business aspect will benefit, so if ENIC keep the club running at even or profit on a yearly basis, when they come to selling the club, they will make a huge profit.

IMO the issue many may have, is what ENIC class as a success isn't what these fans class as a success, as even the people that are in favour of ENIC & Levy dream about us breaking into the top 3 or building a squad to challenge for the title but how can that happen with our current owners?

Now thats not something to get angry about, as its great we're not in financial danger and have got back to a decent level in the league but are we happy to sit at this level and not progress, or do we want to get back to the real glory days? as isn't that why this club came about, for football, or are we here to praise business men?

we have to wait until we get the new stadium imo,so we can compete in the transfer market for the top players that have the abilty to help deliver the top titles.

ENIC have been our owners since 2001, I don't believe there is going to be a new stadium anytime soon.
