The song is trite, but it's less racist than calling someone a coconut for disagreeing with you (Powar) or defending a player who called a fellow player who wouldn't change his evidence on racial lines a 'choc-ice' (Ouseley).

As for bringing Anton into it- whenever we have a go at Gary Neville we usually throw in a jibe against Phil, and vice-versa. Talking of which, if Neville Neville keeps up this behaviour he'll make a bad name for himself.....

    I'll get my coat.

    Got a face I wouldn't stop kicking <laugh>

In all seriousness it's his diving and he does have one of those faces. Similarly to Anton, I just generally don't like him, no stand out reason in particular.

An argument against what exactly? You continuously spouting drivel? There is no argument, it's you being a petulant bellend on another account because you were banned and have to resort to crying at being rightfully called upon your arrogant smarmy ways.

Since this post you have continued to post a similar thing every time. You are the one who isn't bright I'm afraid. You're also a massive hypocrite.

Also YV, agree with your last paragraph, he shouldn't be targeted. Still don't see how it's racist though.

I was just thinking about that analogy myself <laugh> I don't think it was the cleverest thing for them to sing because Mr "I never say anything offensive but people are always racist and bullying to me" Ferdinand has been given all the tools he needs to move the debate along. Now it's not about him being a cock with regard to England selection - it's about Engalnd fans "racially" abusing him. The problem when people scream racism is that it's very hard to disprove it whether or not it was intended or reagrdless of whether racist language was used. And, of course, Rio Ferdinand could see racist overtones in someone offering him a cup of tea of he felt motivated to do so............

So it's just a random disliking of Anton Ferdinand, nothing to do with the Terry incident? Hard to believe.

It being 'hard to believe' is your problem, not ours. Like I said, no specific reason, he's just a tool.

I fail to see any racist connotations to this chant at all.
Pretty unpleasant, but there's absolutely nothing in it that suggests that it's either directly racist or done for racist reasons.

Ferdinand acted in a manner which upset people and they chose to voice that upset in a fairly nasty fashion.
Where's the connection to his colour/race?

It is you who are obsessed with the race connection. I did not read anything racist into those chants.
Maybe the people who did make a racist connection with those songs are the ones who should be worried.
I am mixed race btw. Not that it matters (although according to you it would).

Not that you have an agenda, nor Does rio either when it comes to deflecting from the real issue: his shabby treatment of England by working in Qatar....££££ over representing his country.

The song requires two names to make it work: Liverpool/city; palace/mill wall or two footballers names.

In this case two names from the same family.

Rio Ferdinand is a racist, just because he is black he gets away with. Rio does not like the white man.

Then why does it go on at every ground and at international matches?<doh>

I agree with Sean, Rio is racist and has a persecution complex. I am sure the subject of slavery gets him well mad even though it has been abolished for how long? <laugh> Malcolm Y

I'm surprised that the Chelsea fans are not using the excuse that the England fans were only repeating what they thought Rio had sung to them first. Of course Ashley will have heard nothing.
