He should do the decent thing and resign - anything less is us being relegated. The man has a born to lose tattoo on his fat, spam-like, alcohol ravaged face.

I reckon we would be lower mid table under pards. At least 7 points better off than where we are now IMO.

To be fair to Aarons. He has been played as wing back and at left back in his two games back. Lets judge the lad in his proper position before we deem him surplus to requirements.

So true. Its not complicated is it. You have two genuine left wingers. Normally when you have those kinds of options and you think they are both handy, you put them in competition for one position. If one isn't doing it, you look to change the game by bringing the other on for him. Last night aside and the injuries, we just seem to be messing around non stop.

What worries me is we are back where we were with Carver now. We haven't progressed after 80m. <laugh> If you'd given me 80m, or even this squad, I reckon I'd be getting better results than McClaren.

As soon as the black ones arrive to make it even. Unfortunately McClaren was put in charge of ordering them. He bought pink ones.

9th place 26 points when Pardew left, last game in charge beat Everton 3-2, so yes it was all doom and gloom, when he left we were in an utterly hopeless position with no chance of survival leaving fans favourite J. Carver to rescue the club from the dire straits that we were in having spent tuppence ha'penny over 4 or 5 years to build the strongest squad since the Dirt Dozen. :emoticon-0172-mooni

Regarding Pardew, I do reluctantly agree that this squad would not be 3rd bottom under Pardew. I am in no way giving Pardew plaudits, I think he's bang average at best, but he's more modern and a stronger character than Schteve, unfortunately. Schteve is, frankly, abysmal. As is Charnley, probably moreso. We've long been hamstrung by mainly Lee, by virtue of Mike's inexperience/stupidity, but now in twice the trouble with Mac.

The better journo's, such as George Caulkin, felt Macca was on the edge of being sacked before we somehow beat Liverpool and subsequently Spurs which gave him a huge stay of absence. I cannot fathom how 4 points out of 27, when we were already in a perilous position, isn't sackable.

For me the point is - is McClaren more valuable than Premier League survival. All statistics point to this being the choice, regardless of how much has been spent or how much time the squad needs (didn't take Afobe long to score or "gel", did it?).

Has anyone actually answered the OP question? I'm not sure anyone can, bar Charnley. But why is Ashley allowing Charnley to put his own self-interests and arrogance/incompetence above and beyond the club? Ashley is sat idly allowing the tea boy to play FM16 with a £300m+ investment. It's madness, utter, inconceivable madness.

Ashley has much bigger operations to deal with day to day I would think, I doubt he spends that much time in Newcastle really, probably only on home match days.

He was involved enough to speak directly to Daniel Levy about Townsend. Even in his book, £300m is hefty. He recently got heavily involved in property at around 1/5 of that value.

Saturday is a must win. No draw. Fail that and McClaren needs to be sacked immediately. Apparently the side needs time to 'gel.' Come the **** on. We are in February. Time is up.

A totally awful performance against a team (like us) who are in terrible form.

Non-performance from the majority of the players.

Unlucky with injuries but failing to recognise Perez getting bullied up-front alone inexcusable.

Townsend huffed and puffed but Shelvey looks disinterested already.

Our new #23 looks decent, strange that he was removed.

SM is a decent coach but he's not qualified for a PL relegation battle - that's clear enough.

Changing the Manager/Coach just after you've let him buy the players he wants? Daft.

We have to stick with him and state publicly that we will.

I'm sure he could get us into the Championship Play-Off's next season... <whistle>

This was his first game with a decent team at his disposal. 4 of the 5 midfield players were 'his' signings.

    We need massive improvements immediately.

    Time is running out fast.

He keeps smiling, hopefully that's just for the cameras. He should be screaming.

3 games - if were not out of the bottom 3 then we need a change.

The gap is 5 points to safety. That is a lot for the way we are playing.

Must win on Sat or were in real real trouble.

Hope we don't have to sack him, but he's leaving it late

I was playing golf today. I imagined McClaren's face on the ball and drove it 800 yards. I was that angry.

If and when we do get relegated the only crumb of comfort will be that Penfold, Carr and Schteeeve will all surely be shown the door.

The only problem is, will JFK, Little Hitler Dennis Wise and **** knows who else be ushered in?? Ashley is consistently clueless when it comes to staffing the club.
