Line of Duty is starting again at the end of March. Hope it's as good as the previous ones, the last series in particular was gripping and incredibly well written.

They've all been great, the last one you refer to was the one with Steven Graham which was excellent.

I'm sure the new one won't disappoint.

Peter Sutcliffe, Britain's notorious serial killer, was convicted of 13 murders and seven attempted murders. Last November, he died in prison. But what dark secrets did he take to the grave? This documentary claims to draw on new evidence and testimony to reveal more victims before the official count, revealing that, contrary to the original police investigation, his attacks were carried out on men as well as women.

Watched 'The Terror' on BBC iplayer this week. Really enjoyed it and it's very binge-able, 10 x 40min episodes.

I loved the trilogy but did not know it had been produced by the beeb, thanks Chazz. Seems there is a petition to get the beeb to come clean ... https://www.gopetition.com/petitions/show-bbcs-roads-to-freedom-1970.html
Goes back a while though, so probs a waste of time.

It was obvious it was produced by the BBC as it went out on the BBC. Sort of thing that wouldn't get made now, you needed to pay attention and not full of explosions car chases and fights. Better than the book as Sartre can be somewhat overblown and pretentious.

    I read Sartre at University.

French existentialist womaniser twat that he was.

    The **** him...

Although to be fair I use the imagery of a gnarled tree root as an explanation of the fact that the Universe is ruled by chance and indifference and the imagery of reflecting an image of myself in another person's eyes as being a symbol of how we are trapped within the constraints of each others contingent existence, on a daily basis.

    Existence preceeds essence.

Or is it essence preceeds existence?

    Existentialism?

    I'll **** it.

He had some dubious political thoughts as well, but you can't get into that. Did enjoy that TV series though. Don't know if I would as much if I saw it again.

Ah, my time at uni was spent on Husserl, Heidegger and Nietzsche, considerably less Gallic. All twats of some sort though, first two, at least.

I'm more of an empiricist these days to be honest.

Experience has taught me that...umm... experience has taught me.

    That's a philosopher's joke by the way.

Honestly, there'll be thinkers the world over, pissing themselves over that one.

    Not on here, obviously.

But on more refined forums, it'll be hilarity guaranteed.
